Junior Operations Specialist

Location: Huntsville, AL and overseas customer location

Position Status: Full Time

Travel Requirement: International travel required/ extended deployments

Brief Job Description:

The Junior Operations Specialist provides operational support for platforms operating under Contractor-Owned Contractor-Operated (COCO), Contractor-Owned Government-Operated (COGO), and Government-Owned Contractor-Operated (GOCO) support models. This position assists with tracking platform readiness, coordinating operational activities, maintaining documentation, and supporting mission execution. The Junior Operations Specialist works closely with logistics, maintenance, and operational teams to ensure platforms are available and effectively employed in support of customer requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the operation and employment of platforms in accordance with mission requirements and approved support models.
  • Assist in coordinating operational activities based on platform ownership and support arrangements.
  • Track and report the status, availability, and readiness of assigned platforms.
  • Identify and elevate issues affecting platform operations and mission execution.
  • Coordinate with logistics, maintenance, and operational personnel to support mission requirements.
  • Maintain operational records, reports, logs, and support documentation.
  • Assist with mission planning and execution activities as directed.
  • Support safe and effective platform operations in various operating environments.
  • Ensure activities are conducted in accordance with company procedures, customer requirements, and applicable regulations.
  • Participate in operational meetings, briefings, and status reviews.
  • Provide administrative and operational support to senior operations personnel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Secret Security Clearance.
  • 0–2 years of experience in operations, logistics, military, aviation, maritime, unmanned systems, or a related field.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or relevant military experience preferred.
  • Basic understanding of operational support, logistics, or mission execution concepts.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to learn new systems, processes, and operational procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow established guidance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior military service or experience supporting Department of Defense programs.
  • Experience with operational tracking, logistics, maintenance, or readiness reporting systems.
  • Familiarity with COCO, COGO, or GOCO operational environments.
  • Associate's degree in Business, Logistics, Aviation, Operations Management, or a related field.

Physical Requirements:

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility to include but not limited to: bending, reaching, climbing, turning, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distances may be required. Must be able to lift, move, and transport items frequently over 10 pounds.

Work Environment:

Generally, work is conducted in an inside office environment, but may also involve some outside work depending on the task. The inside environment may be in an office or cubicle with close quarters, low to moderate noise, and bright or dim lighting. Outside work may include various environmental conditions including warm and cold climates and while on travel.
