Job Overview
XPECT Solutions is looking for a Junior Network Engineer to support our Federal Government Client in Huntsville, AL. The ideal candidate will provide technical engineering support for our large federal government agency's highly complex network infrastructure environment to include multiple enclaves comprising various classification levels.
The Junior Network Engineer will also be responsible for assisting with deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting network infrastructure and hardware.
Core Responsibilities
  • Gather user network requirements utilizing multiple methodologies to provide necessary technical documentation, system requirement documents, systems security requirements documents, and system test plans.
  • Install, maintain and evaluate network systems and communications systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues involving various protocols, topologies, networking hardware, etc.
  • Utilize knowledge of internetworking, computer systems, routers, switches, firewalls, and peripherals to enhance understanding of current network designs and to collaborate with other team members
  • Work independently and collectively to help improve network solutions and contribute to network service improvements.

Requirements
  • Active Top-Secret Clearance Required; must be SCI-eligible.
    • A Counter-Intelligence Polygraph is required post-start.
  • 3+ years of experience designing, developing, and implementing network solutions.
  • Experience with configuration of switches and routers.
  • Experience configuring from the CLI.
  • Experience with IT Ticketing systems (Jira, ServiceNow, etc.).
  • Experience providing Tier 2 and Tier 3 troubleshooting support.
  • Experience working in both classified and unclassified network environments.

Preferred Additional Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Certification
