deciBel Research has an immediate opening for a Jr. Systems Engineer in Huntsville, AL.

Position Description:

The successful candidate supports MBSE analysis and validation activities under the direction of senior and mid-level engineers and the Chief MBSE Architect. The Junior Systems Engineer supports model verification and validation tasks, develops modeling skills under mentorship, and grows into independent analysis and Configuration Architecture Board (CAB)-facing presentation responsibilities. This role requires a strong systems-thinking mindset and a desire to grow within an MBSE-focused team.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Supports analysis, verification, and validation of SysML system models for modularity, interoperability, and intended-use fidelity
  • Develops MBSE modeling and analysis skills under the mentorship of senior and mid-level engineers
  • Supports preparation of analyses and materials for Configuration Architecture Board (CAB) reviews, growing toward independent presentation
  • Applies systems-thinking principles and MBSE best practices to assigned tasks

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or other relevant STEM field, or equivalent, required

Experience Requirements:

  • 1–3 years of professional MBSE/Systems Engineering experience
  • Demonstrated systems-thinking mindset
  • Familiarity of SysML

Special Skills Desired:

  • Familiarity with Cameo (Cameo Enterprise Architecture / Systems Modeler)
  • Familiarity with MOSA principles
  • Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design (DDD) to assess model modularity and intended use fidelity
