In a junior development context, L1, L2, L3, and L4 typically refer to different levels of developer experience and responsibility, with L1 being entry-level and L4 being more senior. These levels often indicate increasing technical skills, problem-solving ability, and project ownership, and are used by companies to structure career progression and compensation. Skills such as coding, debugging, and understanding of development tools are expected to grow with each level.

What are some common challenges faced by junior developers in their first year on the job?

Junior developers often encounter challenges such as adapting to new codebases, understanding team workflows, and balancing learning with delivering results. It's common to feel overwhelmed by unfamiliar technologies or development tools at first. However, most teams provide mentorship, code reviews, and regular feedback to help juniors grow their skills and confidence. Collaboration with more experienced developers and asking questions are key to overcoming these early hurdles and building a strong foundation for future growth.

Will AI replace junior dev?

AI is unlikely to fully replace junior developers, as they perform tasks that require creativity, problem-solving, and understanding of context. Developing skills in programming languages, version control, and understanding AI tools can enhance a junior developer's role in the evolving tech environment.

What are Junior Developers?

Junior Developers are entry-level professionals in software development who are responsible for writing, testing, and maintaining code under the guidance of more experienced developers. They typically work as part of a team, learning best practices and industry standards while contributing to various stages of the software development lifecycle.
