What are some common challenges recruiters face when sourcing candidates for hard-to-fill positions?

Recruiters often encounter difficulties finding qualified candidates for hard-to-fill roles due to skill shortages, niche requirements, or high competition in the market. These roles may require specialized experience or certifications that limit the candidate pool. To address this, recruiters typically expand their sourcing strategies by leveraging professional networks, social media, and employee referrals, as well as proactively reaching out to passive candidates. Creative problem-solving and strong communication skills are essential for overcoming these challenges and successfully filling critical vacancies.

What is the difference between Job Recruiting vs Human Resources?

AspectJob RecruitingHuman Resources
Primary FocusFinding and attracting candidates for specific job openingsManaging overall employee relations, policies, and organizational development
Required CredentialsRecruitment certifications, HR knowledgeHR certifications, broader HR expertise
Work EnvironmentRecruitment agencies, corporate HR departmentsCorporate offices, HR departments
Employer & Industry UsageUsed across industries for staffing needsUsed for overall HR management in organizations

Job recruiting specifically focuses on sourcing and hiring candidates for open positions, while human resources encompasses a broader range of employee management tasks, including onboarding, training, and policy development. Both roles are essential in the hiring process but serve different functions within an organization.

What is the best job recruitment site?

The best job recruitment site for job recruiting depends on the industry and location, but popular platforms like Indeed, LinkedIn, and Glassdoor are widely used by employers and job seekers for posting and finding job opportunities. These sites often feature advanced search filters, company reviews, and resume tools to aid in the hiring process.

What jobs pay 4000 a week without a degree?

Jobs such as commercial truck drivers, sales managers, real estate brokers, and certain skilled trades like electricians or plumbers can pay around $4,000 weekly without requiring a college degree. These roles often rely on experience, certifications, or licenses rather than formal education and may involve long hours or independent work.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Job Recruiter, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Job Recruiter, you need strong interpersonal skills, an understanding of talent acquisition strategies, and knowledge of recruitment processes, often supported by a degree in human resources or a related field. Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS), sourcing tools like LinkedIn Recruiter, and HR software is typically required. Excellent communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills help recruiters excel in connecting with candidates and hiring managers. These skills are vital for identifying top talent efficiently and ensuring a smooth and effective hiring process.

How do you become a recruiter for jobs?

To become a recruiter, you typically need a high school diploma or higher education, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and experience with applicant tracking systems or recruiting tools. Many recruiters gain experience in human resources, sales, or customer service before entering recruiting roles, and some pursue certifications like the Certified Professional Recruiter (CPR). Building a network and understanding industry-specific hiring practices also enhance prospects in recruiting careers.

Is it worth getting a recruiter to find a job?

A job recruiting professional can help streamline the job search process by connecting candidates with suitable opportunities and providing interview preparation. They often have industry contacts and knowledge of hidden job openings, which can increase the chances of finding a good match. However, candidates should weigh the costs and benefits, as some recruiters charge fees or may prioritize certain clients.

What is job recruiting?

Job recruiting is the process of finding, attracting, and selecting qualified candidates for employment within an organization. Recruiters work to identify talent, screen applicants, conduct interviews, and coordinate the hiring process. Their goal is to match the right candidates with open positions, ensuring both the company’s and the applicants’ needs are met. Job recruiting can be handled internally by a company's human resources team or externally by specialized recruiting agencies.

Job description

Relay is the Intelligent System of Action for the physical economy. While the digital revolution has historically left the deskless workforce behind, we are closing that gap by transforming analog frontline operations into a data-rich, AI-powered ecosystem. We aren't just selling radios; we are building the digital foundation for the 80% of the global workforce that doesn't work at a desk.
Why Join Relay?
  • A Proven Winner: Join a hyper-growth company trusted by over 10% of the Fortune 500 and a dozen of the Fortune 100.
  • High Value, High Impact: With 47% of our revenue coming from $100K+ ARR customers and a 135% Net Revenue Retention (NRR), you will be joining a company rooted in value creation.
  • Market-Leading Innovation: The Relay platform captures 1 billion new data points weekly and features award-winning AI tools like TeamTranslate™, which has seen 500% YoY growth.
  • World-Class Leadership: Our already stellar C-suite has been bolstered by leaders to help us scale toward our next major milestones.
  • The Relay Culture: Work from our amenity-rich Raleigh campus (fitness center, sports courts) with 100% paid health insurance and a team dedicated to "Best Work In My Life" (BWIML).

Our team continues to grow, and as a result, we're adding a Recruiting Coordinator to support our Recruiting team.
As a Recruiting Coordinator, you play an important role in guiding a strong candidate experience and are an integral part of the engine behind our talent growth. Reporting to our Director, Recruiting and supporting our recruiting team, you will touch every part of the hiring funnel-from the first "hook" with a potentially sourced candidate to the high-five on a new hire's first day.
This is the perfect role for someone who wants to understand the "why" and "how" behind world-class recruiting and eventually grow within our Recruiting and People Services team.
What You'll Do:
  • Maintain and update the "Life at Relay" presence on LinkedIn. You'll create engaging content that shows the world why Relay is the best place to work in order to position Relay as a prime employer for top candidates. Maintain and enhance our presence on external sites to help showcase why Relay is the best place to work
  • Jump into "Recruiting Ops" projects as we scale-whether that's refining our ATS workflows, enhancing candidate surveys, or supporting People Services initiatives.
  • Execute on spinning up and maintaining a Notion Recruiting Hub, ensuring our internal team has the resources and data they need at their fingertips.
  • Manage the "calendar Tetris" of onsite interview loops at our Raleigh HQ. You are the face of Relay for candidates, ensuring they feel welcomed and informed.
  • Partner with the Recruiting team and hiring stakeholders to build talent pipelines through creative sourcing strategies on LinkedIn and other niche platforms.
  • Coordinate and attend local recruiting events and career fairs, acting as a primary brand ambassador for Relay alongside our Recruiting team and hiring teams
  • Ensure a seamless transition from "Candidate" to "Employee" by assisting with Day 1 orientation and preboarding administrative tasks.
What You Bring:
  • Ability to be on-site in our Raleigh HQ 5 days per week 1-2 years of experience in a fast-paced, corporate, professional environment (Admin/Coordination, Ops, Customer Success, Sales, or Sales Development)
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; you can write a compelling social media post and lead a professional virtual screening with equal confidence.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage "calendar Tetris"-scheduling multi-stage onsite interviews across various time zones and departments without dropping the ball.
  • Demonstrate a nimble, tech-savvy approach to project management by leveraging our core stack, including Notion, Google Workspace, and AI tools such as Claude and Gemini.
  • You should have a proven track record of staying organized in fast-paced environments and a history of quickly mastering new platforms (e.g., Asana, Trello, Canva), ensuring our workflows remain modern and efficient.
  • An innate "customer-first" attitude toward both candidates and internal hiring managers.

The "Nice-to-Haves"
  • Experience using Canva or similar tools to create basic social media graphics for "Life at Relay" posts.
  • Prior experience using Notion to organize projects, wikis, or team hubs.
  • Familiarity with LinkedIn Recruiter or Boolean search strings to find "passive" talent.

It is an incredibly exciting time to be joining Relay, given we've recently ranked #175 on the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 and #920 on the Inc. 5000.
Why Join Relay?
  • A Proven Winner: Join a hyper-growth company trusted by over 10% of the Fortune 500 and a dozen of the Fortune 100.
