Description
St. Mary's Episcopal School is accepting applications for coaches to lead a competitive and talented Athletic program. Coaches must have previous coaching or playing experience, have a positive coaching style, value teamwork and sportsmanship, and have a strong understanding of the fundamentals of the sport. These positions report to the Director of Athletics.
Responsibilities include:
  • Develop a written philosophy statement on athletics
  • Determine the system of play and establish goals/objectives for your team
  • Have a thorough knowledge of all Divisional and State Athletic policies as defined by TSSAA or other governing bodies
  • Conduct oneself as a positive role model
  • Report all rule violations to AD
  • Delegate specific duties and analyze staff effectiveness
  • Consult with AD in purchasing equipment within budget
  • Turn in Team Rosters to AD
  • Maintain yearly inventory
  • Give Scores and outstanding performances to SIS (Sports Information Director)
  • Communicate once a week via email to your players, parents, and school administration with updated logistics.
  • Work with Strength and Conditioning Coach to implement fitness goals tailored to specific teams and individuals (in season and out of season)
  • Remain at all practices and/or contests until all athletes have left
  • Distribute and collect all uniforms
  • Keep an accurate roster with uniform numbers/sizes
  • Senior Day Coordination
  • NLI Signing Day Coordination

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is active; it requires standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs. This role, at times, requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching with the ability to lift, carry, push and pull light weights. Coaches must be able to traverse school facilities and lead students to safety in the event of an emergency. Coaches must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
