Location: Bridgewater, NJ (Hybrid 3 days onsite/week)
Duration: 3-6 Month Contract
Overview

Seeking an experienced Jira Administrator to support the day-to-day administration, configuration, and optimization of Jira Cloud. This role will focus on configuring projects, workflows, boards, permissions, dashboards, and custom fields while supporting business users and helping standardize Jira across the organization. A key part of the role is training both Jira administrators and end users to ensure successful adoption and consistent usage.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and configure Jira Cloud projects, workflows, boards, dashboards, permissions, issue types, screens, and custom fields
  • Set up and maintain Kanban and Scrum boards, including columns, swimlanes, filters, and reporting
  • Manage user access, permission schemes, notification schemes, and governance standards
  • Perform Excel data mapping and support migration of project information into Smartsheet and other project management tools
  • Build JQL queries, dashboards, and reports for project teams and leadership
  • Configure integrations with enterprise platforms when needed
  • Create documentation, standards, and best practices for Jira administration
  • Train other Jira administrators and business end users on Jira functionality, Agile processes, and platform best practices
  • Provide day-to-day support, troubleshoot issues, and recommend process improvements

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Jira Administration experience, preferably Jira Cloud
  • Strong experience configuring workflows, boards, custom fields, permissions, screens, dashboards, and automation
  • Experience with Excel data mapping (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Power Query, etc.)
  • Experience supporting Agile teams using Scrum and Kanban
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to train administrators and end users
  • Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and stakeholder support skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Smartsheet administration or Jira-to-Smartsheet migration experience
  • Experience with Confluence, Jira Automation, REST APIs, ScriptRunner, Azure DevOps, GitHub, or ServiceNow integrations
  • Atlassian or Smartsheet certifications
  • Experience in pharmaceutical or regulated environments
