Position Title: Field IT Support Technician

Employment Terms: Part-Time, Hourly

Immediate Supervisor: IT Manager/ IT Systems Admin

Function/Overview:

The Field IT Support Technician drives the delivery of reliable technology support to employees and jobsites. Working closely with the IT Manager and Systems Administrator, this role provides hands-on support for hardware, software, user accounts, and IT infrastructure while ensuring employees have the tools and resources needed to work effectively. The successful technician takes ownership of support requests, technology deployments, and end-user satisfaction.


Performance Expectation

The Field IT Support Technician is responsible for delivering timely and effective technical support to employees and jobsites. Success in this role is driven by strong customer service, technical expertise, responsiveness, organization, and follow-through. The technician is expected to maintain technology standards, support IT operations, and contribute to a reliable and productive technology environment.


Core Responsibilities and Duties:

  • The Field IT Support Technician is responsible for:
  • Provide 1st level client support using support help desk application (Freshdesk) and triaging and troubleshooting support tickets.
  • Configure new hardware and when needed upgrade hardware using company standards. Deploy client hardware including laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and all other IT related peripheral devices to jobsites.
  • Setup, configure and maintain various network and software accounts including but not limited to Active Directory, Office 365, CMiC, Oracle Primavera Cloud, MDM, and various others.
  • Conduct annual Preventative Maintenance on all client PC's.
  • Conduct initial Microsoft InTune registration on all PC's
  • Help with updating and maintaining IT inventory.
  • Help with jobsite setups and demobilization to include cabling, workstation setup and printer and external hardware setup.
  • This position requires travel to different jobsites located throughout Southern California. Reliable transportation is necessary.


Advanced Responsibilities:

  • Administer, maintain, and manage all servers in the organization including patching, scripts, VMware and network program installations.
  • Monitor network, server and MDM environment and report non-compliant devices.
  • Office 365 maintenance and archiving.
  • Monitor and configure disaster recovery and backup technology.

Recommended Education:

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field

Or in lieu of education the following verifiable experience will be considered


  • 1-3 years' experience in Field IT Support, Helpdesk Support, or Technical Support
  • CompTIA A+ preferred

Physical Demands:

This office position requires the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand, as necessary. Involves walking, effective communication, listening, using hands to operate office equipment. Vision abilities required for computer work, reading, writing, typing, data entry and the ability to adjust focus. The employee may be required to push, pull, lift and /or carry up to 20 pounds; attempt no greater weight without assistance. The noise level in the work environment is an active open office.
