Job description

GovCIO is currently hiring for a Warehouse Inventory Specialist to provide warehouse inventory support to our federal customer. This position is located in Frederick, MD and is a fully onsite position. It requires the wearing of protective footwear and obtaining a forklift certification for the state of Maryland if the candidate does not already have one. Both of these requirements can be taken care of post hire.
Responsibilities
The employee will work in a fast-paced warehouse environment under federal supervision. They will assist with tracking, identification, and management of IT inventory in a warehouse and office setting. This includes managing the receiving of large volume shipments of IT equipment to the Warehouse, managing the IT equipment for pre-staging; planning and managing the storage locations of the IT equipment within the warehouse, and managing the pulling/staging of IT equipment in a timely manner to support scheduled shipments.
Job duties include the following:
  • Maintains manual and automated records for requisitioning, receiving and storing supplies equipment.
  • Inspects shipments and reports on supply and shipping shortages.
  • Interprets and prepares supply and transportation documentation.
  • Performs data entry to query and enter information for supply, acquisition and inventory purposes.
  • Pulls and stages equipment for shipment to various sites and prepares the necessary paperwork. Familiarizes self with local shipping Points of Contact (POC), delivery requirements, and geographic and physical issues with shipping to various sites.
  • Learns and utilizes shipping software and requirements for various vendors.
  • Maintains records to account for items shipped.
  • Assists with local inventory and maintaining an accurate database of all stored equipment.
  • Assists with preparation of equipment for disposal according to federal guidelines. This may include utilizing provided software to erase hard drives inside of devices.
  • Assists federal property custodians with location of physical inventory and transfer of physical inventory to other agencies or sites.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, manipulate and carry packaging, devices, and tools necessary for carrying out duties.
  • Ability to regularly carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to read small print on shipping documentation
  • Familiarity with Windows and Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word, Excel)
  • Familiarity with physical basic IT equipment (e.g. laptops, printers, webcams, scanners)
  • Exceptional Organizational skills
  • High School Diploma with 0-2 years of experience

Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Experience with maintaining large inventory
  • Experience with software inventory systems
  • Experience utilizing shipping systems of various vendors

Clearance Required:
  • Must be able to obtain and hold a Public Trust Clearance.
