Wieland is hiring an Information Technology (IT) Manager. The Information Technology Manager will be responsible for developing, securing, and maintaining the organization’s information systems to ensure accurate, efficient, and compliant flow of information across all departments. This role manages the Microsoft Active Directory environment, oversees network and server infrastructure, directs IT vendors, and ensures the reliability and security of all technology systems.

Base Salary Range: $122,000 - $152,500/year

May be eligible for a variable compensation plan bonus based upon company performance within fiscal year cycle.  

Wieland Lake Zurich operates as an ITARregulated facility. This position requires an individual that is authorized to work in an ITAR-regulated facility including responsibility for securing exportcontrolled technical data, enforcing access controls, and ensuring compliance with ITAR, EAR, and CMMC requirements. This role is located in Lake Zurich and will be fully on-site. While this role is local, occasional travel to other locations will be required 10% travel.


Information Technology Responsibilities:

  • Systems Administration & Security
    • Manage and secure the Microsoft Active Directory environment, including user accounts, groups, and permissions.
    • Oversee network servers, system security, and integrity.
    • Maintain reliable backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes.
    • Develop, maintain, and execute the organization’s disaster recovery plan.
    • Administer the Access Control System and camera security systems.
    • Implement and enforce ITARcompliant access controls to ensure only authorized U.S. Persons access exportcontrolled systems and data.
    • Ensure all IT systems storing or transmitting controlled technical data meet ITAR, EAR, and CMMC security requirements.
    • Maintain logging, monitoring, and segmentation for systems containing exportcontrolled data.
  • Infrastructure & Network Management
    • Design, develop, integrate, implement, and maintain the organization’s computer hardware and network infrastructure.
    • Monitor and maintain physical and virtual servers, storage, and network equipment.
    • Maintain accurate inventory of all IT assets, including hardware, software, and virtual resources.
    • Procure, track, and record all software licenses.
    • Recommend and purchase equipment to improve operational efficiency.
    • Ensure network architecture supports regulatory compliance and security best practices.
  •  Vendor & Project Management
    • Manage all outsourced IT vendors, including Managed Operations, MS Access development, camera security, and access control providers.
    • Verify that all IT vendors meet ITAR requirements before granting system or data access.
    • Determine requirements, boundaries, and priorities for new IT projects.
    • Evaluate system capacity and future needs.
    • Write specifications for equipment and oversee technical project execution.
    • Consult with software and hardware vendors to identify opportunities for technological advancement and negotiate pricing.
  •  User Support & Training
    • Assist employees with system needs, access issues, and software operation.
    • Train employees on computer systems, phones, software applications, and company mobile devices.
    • Provide guidance on proper handling of exportcontrolled data within IT systems.
    • Ensure users understand ITARrelated restrictions and access limitations.
  •  Reporting & Operational Analysis
    • Prepare and analyze reports on equipment productivity, malfunctions, and maintenance.
    • Develop and maintain Crystal Reports for ERP and business needs.
    • Use data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
  • Technology Strategy & Continuous Improvement
    • Investigate new technologies and methods to increase system efficiency and support organizational goals.
    • Ensure systems align with business needs and support longterm organizational growth.
    • Evaluate emerging technologies for ITAR, EAR, and CMMC compliance implications.
    • Drive continuous improvement in IT processes, security, and reliability.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Compliance
    • Manage CMMC compliance requirements.
    • Maintain ERP system security.
    • Support the Quality and Environmental Management System (QEMS) through riskbased thinking and continuous improvement.
    • Participate in ITAR, CMMC, and exportcontrol audits, documentation, and reporting.
    • Maintain strict confidentiality and chainofcustody for controlled technical data.

ITAR / EXPORT CONTROL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires access to exportcontrolled technical data.

    • Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual).
    • Must comply with all ITAR, EAR, and related exportcontrol regulations.
    • Must ensure that foreignperson access to IT systems is prevented or properly controlled.
    • Must ensure all IT systems containing exportcontrolled data are secured, monitored, and compliant.
    • Must maintain documentation and participate in audits related to exportcontrol compliance.
    • Must ensure vendors and service providers meet ITAR requirements before access is granted.

Information Technology Qualifications:

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of an Epicor Kinetic ERP system preferred.
  • Deep understanding of AD DS, DNS, DHCP, and Windows Server infrastructure.
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of ITAR, EAR, and exportcontrol requirements for IT systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of experience required.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting ITARregulated environments strongly preferred.
