Job description

About Us

Our client is a mission-driven elderly care company operating across two facilities, dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care to our residents. The team is committed to creating a warm, safe, and enriching environment for seniors - and we believe technology plays a vital role in supporting this mission.

We are seeking an experienced and empathetic IT Manager to lead our small but vital technology team. This individual will be responsible for managing and supporting IT operations across both facilities, focusing on desktop support, helpdesk operations, Office 365, cloud tools, user training, and smart technology adoption - all within a carefully managed budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • IT Operations Management

    • Reporting directly to the CTO, support day-to-day IT operations across both facilities, including desktop support, helpdesk, Office 365 administration, and cloud-based tools.

    • Maintain network stability, system uptime, and endpoint performance across all user environments.

    • Ensure appropriate data backup, cybersecurity, and compliance practices are in place and followed.

  • Team Leadership & Development

    • Manage a team of 3-4 IT support staff; provide coaching, mentoring, performance management, and career development.

    • Lead hiring efforts for additional IT team members as needed.

  • User Support & Training

    • Provide clear, patient, and empathetic technical support to a user base that includes highly non-technical staff.

    • Create simple documentation and hands-on training to increase user confidence and reduce recurring issues.

  • Technology Planning & Implementation

    • Evaluate, recommend, and implement technology solutions that improve resident care, staff efficiency, and operational processes.

    • Ensure successful rollouts of new systems and upgrades with minimal disruption to day-to-day operations.

  • Process Improvement

    • Work closely with leadership to prioritize IT investments.

    • Identify opportunities for cost-effective improvements in systems, workflows, and vendor relationships.

    • Implement repeatable, scalable IT processes and service standards.

Qualifications
  • Proven experience as an IT Manager, ideally in a healthcare, senior living, or similar multi-site environment.

  • Strong background in helpdesk support, endpoint management, Office 365 administration, networking, and cloud technologies.

  • Comfortable making strategic technology decisions based on cost-benefit analysis.

  • Demonstrated ability to support and train non-technical users with patience and clarity.

  • Experience managing or mentoring a small team; strong people development and leadership skills.

  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
