Job Description:
Primary Purpose of Role:
The Investor Relations Analyst plays an important role in organizing and executing investor relations activities, supporting the communication of Allison's business strategy and financial results to the various investment communities. The Investor Relations Analyst will work closely with the [Manager/Director], Investor Relations and Executive Director of Treasury and Investor Relations in support of company management, departmental and organizational goals to develop and execute a comprehensive Investor Relations program.As part of Investor Relations team, the Investor Relations Analyst plays a vital role in facilitating effective two-way communication between management and the investment community through accurate and timely delivery of information and insight. The position has cross-functional responsibilities with coordination of efforts across multiple teams including Legal & Compliance, Financial Reporting & Accounting and Marketing, Sales & Service. The Investor Relations Analyst seeks to strengthen the department's relationships across the organization while supporting the development and communication of messaging to the financial community and other stakeholders.This role has visibility to the company's executive leadership team and other members of management. The position requires significant attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills, intellectual curiosity, an analytical mindset, an understanding of corporate finance as well as a demonstrated ability to deliver results within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in developing and conveying a compelling investment story to current and prospective investors via quarterly earnings calls, industry conference presentations and engagement with shareholders, with lead responsibility for preparing earnings, investor and Board-related materials, including the quarterly earnings press release and presentation, conference call scripts, Q&A and Investor Relations and Board slide presentations.
  • Foster relationships with investors, sell-side analysts and vendor partners.
  • Key contributor to the build-out of a comprehensive shareholder targeting strategy that identifies potential investors and maintains an effective approach to shareholder outreach.
  • Monitor developments and prepare reports on relevant data impacting the company, its peers and the industry, such as sell-side and investor research reports, consensus estimates, stock price targets, competitor trends and other developments impacting the Machinery / Commercial
  • Vehicle space with development of summaries for senior leadership and the Board.
  • Update the company's analyst consensus model for internal reporting, comparison with the company's internal forecasts and understanding of analyst and investor sentiment.
  • Collaborate with external stock surveillance team to track investor movements and compile investor and market intelligence reports and assist in conducting detailed peer analysis for dissemination and reporting to senior leadership.
  • Provide industry and investor conference support, including liaising with sell-side corporate access, scheduling, logistics and drafting investor presentation and management prep materials.
  • Responsible for maintenance and regular updates to the Investor Relations website and activity calendar.
  • Responsible for setup and coordination of the analyst and investor meetings and calls and logging / maintaining a database of interactions (CRM).
  • Coordinate the quarterly earnings conference call and webcast logistics.
  • Work with External Communications team to ensure Investor Relations interests are represented and aligned with priorities.
  • Conduct ad-hoc assignments / projects on an as-needed basis.

Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of financial analysis-related work experience, with investor relations experience.
  • Knowledge of investor relations practices or capital markets.
  • High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel for models and analyses and PowerPoint for presentations to internal and external audiences.
  • Understanding of financial statements, external performance metrics and accounting principles.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), analytical and organizational skills.

Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent work experience
• 3-5 years of financial analysis-related work experience
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work optimally.
