Investor Relations Lead

Teamshares

New York, NY • On-site

Job description

About Teamshares

Teamshares is a technology-enabled acquirer of small and midsize businesses. We buy companies with $.05 million to $5 million in EBITDA, integrate them with our platform, and help employees become owners. Founded in 2019, we operate 90+ subsidiaries wtih approximately $490 million in consolidated revenue across 40+ industries and 30 states.

The Role
We are looking for an Investor Relations Lead to build and execute a best-in-class investor relations function as Teamshares enters an important stage of growth as a public company.
This is a hands-on, full-time investor relations role for someone currently working in IR at a public company. You will be on the front lines of investor engagement, working closely every day with the CFO and CEO to develop our messaging, build relationships with investors, and proactively communicate Teamshares' investment story to the market.

The Opportunity

This is not a traditional, highly senior Head of IR role. We are looking for someone who is close to the market, highly proactive, and excited to build an IR program rather than simply manage an established one.

Our market capitalization and stage require someone who understands how to operate effectively with a smaller public company. You will work directly with senior leadership and have significant visibility and ownership, while the CEO and CFO remain actively involved in investor meetings and messaging.

The ideal candidate is currently doing public company investor relations as their primary, full-time responsibility. We are specifically looking for someone who can play offense: building a packed calendar of investor meetings, conferences, roadshows, and other opportunities to increase Teamshares' visibility and deepen relationships with the investment community.

What You'll Do
  • Own the day-to-day execution of Teamshares' investor relations program within the Finance organization.

  • Work closely and daily with the CFO and CEO to develop, refine, and consistently communicate Teamshares' investment narrative.

  • Participate in virtually all public investor meetings with the CFO, as well as relevant meetings with the CEO.

  • Build and proactively manage relationships with current and prospective institutional investors and analysts.

  • Develop and maintain an active calendar of investor meetings, conferences, roadshows, non-deal roadshows, and other investor engagement opportunities.

  • Proactively identify and pursue opportunities to introduce Teamshares to new investors and expand our shareholder base.

  • Prepare management for earnings calls, investor meetings, conferences, and other external engagements.

  • Develop investor presentations, earnings materials, talking points, FAQs, and other communications.

  • Monitor investor sentiment, market perception, shareholder activity, analyst commentary, and relevant industry trends.

  • Gather and synthesize investor feedback and translate it into actionable insights for senior leadership.

  • Partner with Finance, and Legal, and other teams to ensure accurate, timely, and consistent external communications.

  • Support earnings preparation, including investor messaging, Q&A development, and post-earnings investor outreach.

  • Help establish the processes, tools, and infrastructure needed to scale Teamshares' IR function over time.

  • Maintain a high level of awareness of Teamshares' business, financial performance, strategy, competitive landscape, and market positioning.

What We're Looking For
Required
  • Current, direct investor relations experience at a publicly traded company.

  • Experience working with public-market investors, including institutional investors and equity analysts.

  • Strong understanding of public company disclosure, earnings communications, investor messaging, and capital markets.

  • Demonstrated experience organizing and executing investor meetings, conferences, roadshows, and other shareholder engagement activities.

  • Excellent financial and business acumen with the ability to understand and communicate an investment thesis.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

  • Highly proactive and commercially minded-you naturally look for opportunities to get in front of investors rather than waiting for them to come to you.

  • Comfortable working directly with senior executives and serving as a trusted partner in investor conversations.

  • Ability to operate independently in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment.

Ideal Profile
  • Currently in a dedicated, full-time IR position at a public company.

  • Has enough experience to independently manage the IR function

  • Has experience at a company where management is actively involved in investor relations and understands the importance of senior leadership being directly engaged with investors.

  • Is energized by the opportunity to build and shape an IR function rather than inherit a large, established organization.

  • Has a strong network of institutional investors and capital-markets relationships.

  • Brings a proactive, high-energy approach to investor outreach and relationship building.

What We Offer

Teamshares believes in supporting every team member with a competitive salary and a generous benefits package, including: equity for all employees, exceptional medical/dental/vision benefits plans for employees and their families, and paid parental leave.

We recognize and facilitate the tangible impacts each employee has on our mission, while still maintaining a healthy work-life balance culture that emphasizes unplugging at the end of the work day. Our team values time off and actually takes vacation. We embody a growth mindset and provide the support you need to grow in your career.
We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses and identifying potential inconsistencies or verification signals in application materials based on available information. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans.
