Operations Assistant (Office + Shop Support)

Location: 561 Thornton Road Suite D, Lithia Springs, Georgia 30122.
Job Type: Full-Time

Compensation: $50,000 - $60,000 annually

Position Summary

The Operations Assistant plays a key role in supporting both administrative and operational functions of the business. This position is primarily responsible for assisting with office coordination, maintaining accurate records, and supporting inventory and material management. In addition, the role provides hands-on support in the shop environment, including material handling and equipment operation.

This position requires a highly organized individual who can balance office responsibilities with light shop involvement and contribute to overall operational efficiency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

Administrative & Office Support

  • Perform day-to-day administrative tasks including data entry, filing, and document management
  • Respond to incoming calls and customer requests
  • Maintain organized records related to inventory, orders, and operational processes
  • Assist with scheduling, communications, and coordination between departments
  • Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and internal documentation as needed
  • Support purchasing activities, including creating and tracking purchase orders

Inventory & Materials Management

  • Monitor inventory levels and maintain accurate tracking systems
  • Assist with receiving, labeling, and organizing incoming materials
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors regarding orders and deliveries
  • Ensure timely ordering of materials, supplies, and equipment based on operational needs
  • Conduct periodic inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies

Shop & Operational Support

  • Provide support to shop personnel by staging materials and preparing work areas
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness, organization, and safety within the shop
  • Safely operate equipment such as a forklift to move materials
  • Support workflow efficiency by ensuring materials are readily accessible and properly tracked

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1–3 years of experience in an administrative, operations, or warehouse support role preferred

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) or similar systems
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Self-motivated with a proactive problem-solving mindset

Additional Requirements

  • Forklift certification preferred
  • Willingness to work in both office and shop environments
  • Basic understanding of inventory or materials management is a plus

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Comfortable standing or working in a shop environment periodically
  • Occasional exposure to dust, noise, and varying temperatures in the shop

Work Schedule

  • Full-time position, typically Monday–Friday
