Inventory & Operations Manager

Embarc is seeking an experienced, self-motivated, and organized leader to be our full-time Inventory & Operations Manager at our Fontana cannabis dispensary. What is the Job?

The Inventory & Operations Manager oversees all inventory functions as the key focus while also managing store operations, leading the team, and supporting the customer experience. This role requires strong leadership, excellent organizational skills, and strict compliance with company policies and state regulations.


Core Responsibilities - Inventory:

  • Lead all aspects of inventory management: intake, counts, pricing, transfers, recalls, stocking, and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate counts and records in METRC and POS systems.
  • Conduct recurring audits, spot checks, and cycle counts to ensure accuracy.
  • Anticipate demand and manage reorder levels of non-cannabis supplies to ensure product availability.
  • Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships.
  • Provide, analyze, and action inventory reports.
  • Ensure compliance with state and local cannabis regulations.


Store Operations:

  • Supervise daily store operations to ensure efficiency and compliance.
  • Oversee opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and merchandising.
  • Support the implementation of company policies, legal regulations, and operational improvements.
  • Able to safely lift and carry up to 35 lbs
  • Act as a PPSO as needed.


Leadership:

  • Mentor, train, and coach team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning, development, and accountability.
  • Act as a key point of contact between store management and staff.
  • Understand and follow the Collective Bargaining Agreement governing all hourly team members.
  • Build a culture that aligns with the core values of the organization.
  • Utilize critical problem-solving skills to make decisions for the store.
  • Be a champion of change.


Customer Experience:

  • Leads the front of house store team to create an exceptional experience for customers and employees, and to exceed sales goals.
  • Engage with customers on the sales floor when needed, answering questions and recommending products.
  • Builds customer retention using company loyalty programs.


What Skills We're Looking For:

  • Strong leadership and communication skills with both staff and vendors.
  • Deep understanding of inventory control and compliance procedures.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Proficiency in retail systems, compliance software, and reporting tools.


Required Education and Experience:

  • Experience with Metrc Track and Trace system (Required).
  • Experience with Treez POS system (Required).
  • At least two years of management or supervisory experience in retail or operations.
  • Experience with computerized inventory and compliance systems.


Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time exempt role in a retail store open 365 days a year. Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts are required based on business needs.
