Description:

Summary of the Position: The Operations Training Coordinator works directly with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) facing roles (to include Manufacturing, Quality, Safety, Maintenance and Supply Chain) to ensure training compliance for new hires and existing employees. This position administers and maintains training requirements to meet established performance expectations.

Roles and Responsibilities:

On-the-Job (OJT) Training Programs:

  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all Ops and GMP related OJT programs.
  • Work with OJT trainers and supervisors to ensure all required training records are completed and documented correctly and follow good documentation practices (GDPs).
  • Assist in leading teams developing, or updating, OJT training modules, training plans and programs.
  • Facilitate coordination and communication of training schedules for GMP facing new hire roles and OJT trainers.
  • Monitor and communicate training requirements for Operations and GMP personnel as needed.
  • Perform OJT training in full compliance with all company, state and/or federal safety and environmental regulations.
  • Notify designated personnel of any irregularities in materials, process, or equipment so training material updates can be made.
  • Facilitates the creation of new OJT training materials and updates to existing materials along with OJT trainers as needed.
  • Assist document/process owners in the updating and maintenance of operations SOPs and work instructions as needed.
  • Coordinate and assist in facilitating Train-the-trainer (TTT) sessions and training material development (to include General and QA TTT).
  • Complete periodic OJT SME recertification as required and maintain ongoing TTT qualification status by attending periodic classroom or other training.
  • Troubleshoot and help resolve Operations and GMP employee training related issues as they arise.
  • Collaborate with Operations management to identify preventive or remedial training for employees as needed.
  • Assist with coordination, facilitation, and maintenance of new Employee Orientation, yearly cGMP, and other sessions, as needed.
  • Assist with general department responsibilities such as learning week, newsletter preparation, and training contests and promotions.
  • Attend Gemba walks to stay updated on current operations and safety issues and supply training support as needed.
  • Perform other assigned duties as may be required in meeting company objectives.

Administrative Duties:

  • Perform daily administrative duties to support Operations and GMP training to include: process training forms, create and assign surveys, manage maintain employee profiles, training items, curriculums, groups, assignments, training records and other related data.
  • Help monitor operations training status in LMS and metrics and reporting to ensure compliance and on-time training completions.
  • Manage the Monthly Operations Metric report (primary) and other reporting as needed.
  • Assist employees with access to LMS to complete training.
  • Assist with the creation of job aids and other basic to intermediate training materials as needed for the department.
  • Identify areas of opportunity within the operation for continuous improvement.
  • May be called upon to perform in other capacities such as: investigations & problem solving, continuous improvement of safety program training, and cross-training efforts.
Requirements:

Minimum Requirements: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in pharmaceutical, dietary supplement or food industry required with basic knowledge of cGMP regulations and experience in a cGMP environment. Must be detail oriented and possess strong organization skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks/projects. Strong written and verbal communication skills required. Must be competent in MS office suite, be able to effectively communicate with other departments and function well within a team environment. Ability to effectively facilitate training to large groups required.


Note: This is a 1st shift position with the ability to adjust work schedule periodically to support 3 shifts based on business needs.


Education and Experience: Proven work experience in Operations, Operations support function or similar role preferably in QA or Training. A bachelor’s degree in a supply chain, training, communications, business, or related field is preferred but not required. Working knowledge of databases and LMS experience is desired.
