Position Type: Internship (Volunteer or Academic Credit Eligible)


Position Summary

The Dwyer Coalition for Military Veterans & Families is seeking a Website & Digital Content Intern to support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of digital resources that serve veterans, service members, military families, caregivers, and community partners throughout New York State.


As the coordinating body for the New York State Joseph P. Dwyer Peer Support Project network, the Coalition maintains statewide websites, resource directories, county information pages, and digital tools designed to increase access to information, strengthen community connections, and support military-connected communities. The intern will assist with content management, website updates, digital accessibility, and user experience improvements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with website content updates and maintenance
  • Support the development and organization of resource directories, county pages, and informational content
  • Review website content for accuracy, consistency, and usability
  • Assist with creating and updating webpages, graphics, and digital resources
  • Support search engine optimization (SEO) and content improvement efforts
  • Help identify opportunities to improve website navigation and user experience
  • Assist with uploading documents, resources, events, and announcements
  • Support digital projects and website initiatives that advance the Coalition's mission
  • Collaborate with staff and volunteers to ensure information remains current and accessible


Minimum Requirements

  • Current undergraduate student, recent graduate, or community volunteer
  • Strong written communication and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects
  • Reliable internet access and ability to work remotely
  • Interest in web content management, digital communications, information systems, marketing, nonprofit management, or related fields
  • Commitment to supporting veterans, service members, military families, and caregivers


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with websites, content management systems, or website builders
  • Familiarity with Wix, WordPress, Squarespace, or similar platforms
  • Understanding of website usability and user experience principles
  • Familiarity with SEO concepts and digital content strategies
  • Experience using Canva or similar design tools
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a remote team
