Job description

At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we are writing the next episode - pushing the boundaries of storytelling, global fandom and making the unimaginable a reality. We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology. Come be a part of what's next.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Content Security Manager to lead our efforts in protecting pre-release content, the workflows, and the associated resources across Netflix teams. This role is pivotal in ensuring our productions and intellectual property are secure in our VFX, Animation, and Transmedia workflows - from development through distribution. As the Content Security Manager, you will serve as the primary point of contact for addressing content security matters amongst our teams, ensuring that our Global Content Security standards are properly tailored and implemented across unique entities and workflows, partnering closely with our internal cross-functional teams and our external partners.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive content security strategies specifically tailored for Netflix teams, ensuring robust protection across unique content lifecycles.

  • Serve as the central lead for all cross-functional team content security matters, including rapid incident response and resolution of security issues in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Partner closely with internal production, legal, and product teams to ensure Global Content Security standards are seamlessly integrated into team workflows from development through distribution.

  • Enable teams to engage in third-party production and content creation by ensuring secure content handling end states.

  • Build and maintain high-trust relationships with various team leadership, engineering, Security Privacy & Assurance, Creative Innovation and external partners to bake security protocols into the specialized production processes of diverse creative entities, and exciting new initiatives.

  • Provide bespoke technical guidance and training to teams on best practices for protecting intellectual property within complex, non-standard creative workflows.

  • Oversee the deployment and adoption of security technologies and tools designed to safeguard high-value assets from unauthorized access, leaks, and piracy within various environments.

  • Contribute to the evolution of Global Content Security standards by advocating for the unique needs and innovative practices within the landscape, ensuring that our security posture is purpose-driven and future-minded.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience (10+ years) in a content security, information security, or related role within the entertainment industry, preferably dealing with Content Creation, post-production, animation and VFX.

  • Strong understanding of production workflows, content-handling vendor management, and cybersecurity best practices.

  • Experience working with creative talent and an understanding of production challenges and IP security needs.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex security requirements and best practices to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess and respond to security incidents swiftly and effectively.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a global team, demonstrating strong leadership and collaboration skills.

  • Familiarity with content security technology, anti-piracy protections, and industry standards.
