Job description

JOB SUMMARY: Wynne High School is seeking a highly qualified individual to facilitate distance/virtual learning courses in a classroom setting. Under the direction of the Wynne Virtual Academy Facilitator, the Principal, and Assistant Principal, the online/distance learning facilitator will guide student learning using Edgenuity and Virtual Arkansas courses that have already been developed. QUALIFICATIONS:
  • EDUCATION/LICENSURE/EXPERIENCE: 60 college credit hours or passing score on Praxis Parapro exam
  • Experience is valued, however, no prior experience is required
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Successful completion of pre-employment background checks

  • Experience using or ability and willingness to be trained and learn the learning management system Edgenuity, Google, Virtual Arkansas LMS and other software
  • Ability to communicate with students, parents and school staff through email
  • Ability to develop culture and relationships online through communication and personalized feedback
  • Ability to effectively interact with principals and other team members
  • Ability to provide coaching and feedback to disciplinary inquiry for all students
  • Ability to manage time, meet deadlines, prioritize projects, plan starting and ending deadlines, and successfully bring closure to projects
  • Excellent record keeping and reporting skills
  • Maintain professional attitude and communicate professionally with all stakeholders
  • This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force
  • Work regularly requires speaking or hearing, using hands to finger, handle or feel and repetitive motions, frequently requires sitting and occasionally requires standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms, pushing or pulling and lifting
  • Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word
  • Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels
  • Work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operating machines, operating motor vehicles or equipment and observing general surroundings and activities
  • Continue professional growth by holding membership in professional organizations.
  • Attend and participate in district and area professional development meetings that are designed to provide professional skills and information.
Other functions of the job include but are not limited to the following:
  • Abide by state statutes, school board policies and regulations.
  • Attend meetings and perform duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors.
  • Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation.
  • Serve on committees as assigned
  • Remain current on instructional practices in education
