DEPARTMENT: Distance LearningSUPERVISOR: Director of Distance Learning PURPOSE: The Educational Technology Specialist will work closely with the Director of Distance Learning and other Educational Technology Specialists to support LSUA Faculty, staff and online programs by enabling faculty to use various technologies in the classroom and online.RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide instructional design assistance to faculty

Assist faculty in utilizing technology in the classroom.

Monitor courses to ensure inclusion of required elements

Analyze Faculty survey responses to identify trends and areas for improvement with LSU Online, Teaching Online Certification (TOC)

Review course section reports to identify issues that affect quality and student access

Assist with setup of Moodie Groups prior to each session

Assist with / facilitate the Teaching Online Certification (TOC)

Ensure compliance with Title II Digital Accessibility requirements for the Learning Management System (LMS), including auditing course content and coordinating remediation of accessibility barriers

Host a minimum of two (2) training sessions per month for faculty and students covering educational technology tools, LMS features, and best practices for online learning

Other duties as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS:Master's Degree in Educational Technology, Curriculum and Design or comparable field of study is required. Applicant should be familiar with course management systems, have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to relate to and provide training to students, faculty and staff.
HOURS: Eight (8) hours per day, Monday- Friday 40 hours a week. During priority session periods, some hours may shift from Friday to Saturday and/or Sunday to accommodate faculty and student needs. Total weekly hours will remain 40 hours. Not remote eligible.
