Internal Consultant Jobs (NOW HIRING)

The Project Consultant, Internal is responsible for the day-to-day operation of mailroom services and assigned campus safety/security support functions. This position oversees receiving, routing, distribution, and processing of United States mail and Elwyn internal mail for the Main Campus and satellite facilities, while also supporting safety and security through campus patrols, security checks, emergency response, incident response, safe work practice monitoring, and related documentation.
The role provides customer service and operational support to personnel, supervises and trains assigned staff and client employees/trainees, monitors equipment and supplies, develops/improves operational procedures, and assists with incident response, reports, recommendations, and safety/security training as assigned
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee daily mailroom operations, including receiving, re-routing, sorting, and distributing United States mail and Elwyn internal mail for the Main Campus and satellite facilities.
• Manage individual and bulk mailing processes, postage application, postage costs, and mailroom-related vendor and supply needs.
• Provide photocopying, faxing, mailing, and customer service support to Elwyn personnel, including instruction and assistance related to available services.
• Supervise daily mailroom staffing and train client employees/trainees and assigned staff in mailroom operations, equipment use, documentation requirements, and employment-related expectations.
• Maintain mailroom equipment, supplies, work areas, operating documentation, and other resources necessary for effective service delivery.
• Research, develop, and improve operating procedures for comprehensive mailroom operations, including internal/external bulk mailing, express mail services, centralized package processes, stamp sales, and daily pick-up/delivery activities.
• Monitor customer satisfaction and recommend process improvements based on feedback, service needs, and operational review.
• Assist the Small Business Division as a substitute operations manager for developed affirmative businesses, including Touch Documents, Endearing Impressions, and Expresso Cart, as assigned.
• Patrol designated interior and exterior areas of the Main Campus to support safety and security operations.
• Conduct security checks on Elwyn vehicles to help prevent theft, vandalism, or other security concerns.
• Lock and unlock buildings that are not occupied 24 hours per day and inspect, identify, and respond to potential breaches of security.
• Inspect and document daily gauge readings at the Powerhouse, as assigned.
• Inspect fire extinguishers and emergency lights daily and report concerns requiring follow-up.
• Review and critique monthly fire drills with personnel and residents, as applicable.
• Respond to accidents, incidents, and emergencies on campus, including taking photos, interviewing witnesses, collecting physical evidence, notifying on-call management, completing investigations, drawing conclusions, writing reports, and making recommendations.
• Respond to campus emergencies, including medical assistance, ambulance escort, fire assessment/suppression support, maintenance emergencies, and security concerns involving intruders or unauthorized individuals.
• Maintain confidentiality of residents, personnel, records, reports, and other sensitive information encountered through mailroom, safety, security, or incident response duties.
• Monitor safe work practices and provide training or guidance related to safety and security issues.
• Maintain required documentation, reports, incident records, operational logs, and other records necessary for mailroom, safety, security, and compliance purposes.
• Perform related duties as assigned to support Facilities, Maintenance, Business Services, Support Services, and campus operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license in state of residence, if driving is required.
• First Aid, CPR, and AED training, or ability to obtain required training.
• Ability to work in a variety of environments and settings, including flexible hours as operational needs require.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow safety, security, abuse prevention, mandated reporting, and agency compliance requirements.
• Preferred / Role-Specific Experience:
• Three years of experience working with persons with disabilities.
• Three years of experience in retail sales, service operations, or a supervisory-level service environment.
• Two years of experience in security, safety, firefighting, or institutional safety/security operations.
• Prior experience supervising staff, trainees, or client employees in operational work settings.
