BENJAMIN STEEL COMPANY

JOB TITLE: Inside Sales Representative

SUPERVISED BY: Inside Sales Manager/Director of Branch Operations

Bring Your Personality. Bring Your Skills. We'll Bring the Steel.

Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where customers need answers, forklifts are buzzing, and steel shapes somehow have 47 different names? Perfect. We're a Steel Service Center looking for an Inside Sales Representative who can quote formed steel, help customers figure out exactly what they need, and keep orders moving smoother than freshly cut plate.

If you're great with customers, quick with numbers, and can stay upbeat even when someone asks for a 3-day lead time in... 3 hours, you'll fit right in!

What You'll Do

  • Take incoming calls, emails, and messages like the multitasking champion you are
  • Quote pricing and delivery on stock lengths, cut, formed, and processed steel - accuracy is your superpower
  • Build strong relationships with customers (bonus points if they laugh at your jokes)
  • Help customers understand grades, gauges, shapes, and processing options
  • Enter orders quickly and correctly, because nobody likes a wrong part number
  • Work with Account Managers and operations to keep orders on track
  • Make friendly outbound calls to grow relationships (no cold-calling torture here)
  • Ensure orders ship correctly, on time, and in the right shape - literally

What You Bring

  • Business degree OR 8+ years of industrial inside sales experience
  • Familiarity with steel or industrial products (or willingness to learn why A36 is not a highway exit)
  • Strong math, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple requests without melting into a puddle
  • A customer-first mindset and a sense of humor when the day gets busy
  • Accountability for your wins-and your "well... that's one way to learn" moments

Why You'll Love It Here

  • Supportive team that works hard
  • Meaningful impact - your work keeps manufacturers and fabricators moving
  • Stable industry + room to grow
  • A workplace where your personality is welcome and your effort genuinely matters
