Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Director of Pharmacy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for an interim pharmacy leader with expertise in inpatient behavioral health to oversee the pharmacy operations at a newly established behavioral health facility. This role involves supporting pharmacy setup and ensuring seamless medication management in a specialized psychiatric setting.
Location:This position is based in Fenton, MO, near a major international airport, providing convenient access for local candidates.
Schedule/Hours:
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, plus on-call responsibilities
- Weekend on-call coverage only
- Additional support may be required during the initial startup phase
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead pharmacy setup activities including procurement, packaging, and stocking of medications
- Manage Pyxis system operations with required experience
- Verify medication orders upon patient admission
- Maintain clear communication with executive leadership and area director of pharmacy
- Support medication therapy services in compliance with regulatory standards
- Participate in remote training coordinated with area pharmacy leadership
- Ensure compliance with facility policies in a behavioral health psychiatric environment
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active Missouri pharmacist license with Medication Therapy Services certification
- Strong background in inpatient behavioral health pharmacy practice
- Proven experience with Pyxis automation systems
- Familiarity with order entry systems; training on HCS will be provided
- Ability to work independently without pharmacy technician support
- Preferred local candidates for ease of onsite presence and engagement
This contract assignment commences on July 6th, extending for approximately eight weeks or until a permanent hire is placed. Candidates should be prepared to balance clinical expertise with operational leadership in a dynamic new facility environment.
