Job description

A Case Manager and Intake Specialist with Nexus Programs is responsible for client and case management of immigrants who are in removal proceedings and either: a. Are detained subject to a civil immigration bond, or b. Are detained in a local jail or holding facility charged with a crime and subject to an immigration detainer.

The individual intervews the immigrant or their family and performs a risk assessment to determine if the immigrant qualifies for Nexus Programs. Immigrants that qualify can garner assistance from Nexus in securing their local and immigration bonds, allowing them to be released from immigration custody. The individual is also responsible for supervising the program participant once they are accepted into the program and they are released from jail or detention.

Supervision includes weekly checkins, general support, attending court hearings, and assigning programs that may assist the program participant in their life. The candidate must have strong people skills, be outgoing and energetic, and be motivated to help people in need. It is critical that the candidate have a strong work ethic and a desire to grow with an expanding organization.
