Job description

Position Summary
The Proposal Writer is responsible for developing high-quality, compelling proposal content that supports Learning Care's Business Development team in securing new employer and strategic partnerships. This role combines strong writing ability with content strategy, owning the production of RFP and RFI responses, while also building and maintaining a centralized library of proposal templates, messaging, and reusable assets.

The Proposal Writer works closely with Business Development, Operations, Marketing, and Finance to translate Learning Care's value proposition into clear, persuasive content tailored to each partner opportunity. This role brings structure and consistency to the proposal process while ensuring every submission reflects the quality and professionalism that Learning Care's partnerships demand.

Essential Responsibilities
Proposal Development and Writing

  • Lead the writing and production of RFP and RFI responses, ensuring submissions are compelling, accurate, on-brand, and delivered on time.
  • Develop customized pitch materials, executive presentations, and partnership proposals in collaboration with Business Development Managers.
  • Translate complex program information, pricing structures, and operational capabilities into clear, persuasive narrative content.
  • Tailor proposal content to each prospective partner's industry, workforce priorities, and stated requirements.
  • Manage multiple proposal workstreams simultaneously, maintaining quality and meeting deadlines across concurrent opportunities.

Content Library and Template Management

  • Build, organize, and maintain a centralized content library of approved proposal templates, boilerplate language, case studies, and program descriptions.
  • Develop and standardize reusable content modules that Business Development team members can adapt for prospecting and outreach.
  • Regularly audit and refresh library content to ensure accuracy, relevance, and alignment with current program offerings and messaging.
  • Establish version control and governance practices to ensure the team is always working from current, approved content.

Proposal Process Coordination

  • Manage the end-to-end proposal response process, including intake, timeline development, internal review coordination, and final submission.
  • Coordinate input from cross-functional stakeholders including Operations, Finance, Legal, and Marketing to ensure proposal accuracy and completeness.
  • Track active proposals and submission deadlines, proactively communicating status and surfacing risks to Business Development leadership.

Messaging and Brand Consistency

  • Ensure all proposal and pitch content reflects Learning Care's brand voice, positioning, and messaging standards.
  • Partner with Marketing to align proposal content with broader brand strategy and approved messaging frameworks.
  • Continuously improve the quality, clarity, and persuasiveness of Learning Care's written business development materials.

Cross-Functional Support

  • Serve as a writing and content resource for the broader Business Development team, supporting ad hoc content needs as they arise.
  • Contribute to post-submission reviews, capturing lessons learned to improve future proposal quality and win rates.
     

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Marketing, Business, or related field preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in proposal writing, content development, or a related role\
  • Demonstrated experience managing RFP or RFI response processes
  • Exceptional written communication skills, with the ability to write clearly and persuasively for a business audience
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Experience working in a cross-functional environment with multiple internal stakeholders
  • Experience with content management tools or proposal software preferred
  • Experience with CRM systems such as Salesforce preferred

Compensation and Benefits

  • Compensation based on position, education and experience. Bi-weekly paid. 
    • $72-80,000 base salary.
    • This position is also eligible for our Support Central bonus program which is based on annual achievement of company performance.

  • This position is eligible for paid time off.  All Corporate employees are enrolled in our Flexible Paid Time Off (PTO) plan.  This plan allows for flexibility and discretion between employees and managers in taking time off - with no set accrual for vacation or sick time. Employees can use Flexible PTO for any reason and is compliant with the Colorado Healthy Families Work Act.
