The Director is a senior sales leader responsible for maximizing clients' investment in FOX Sports content across all platforms and partners. This vital role within the Chicago based sales team engages the media and marketing goals of Central US-based clients, providing market-leading solutions that access the scale and passion of our audiences, along with measurement outcomes that validate the investment. The ideal candidate is a team-oriented leader with deep sports industry expertise, a passion for media, and an ability to foster a culture of collaboration. This role reports into the SVP, Sales.

Success in this role requires exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and the ability to deliver client-centric outcomes at scale.

This role is based in our Chicago office; you must be available to work onsite at least 4 days per week.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITES:

Sales Revenue:

  • Drive revenue growth across the assigned client portfolio by identifying new business opportunities and expanding existing partnerships.

  • Develop and present strategic proposals that are data-driven, creative and aligned with FOX and client objectives, securing revenue and a measurable return on investment for client.

Client Engagement:

  • Serve as the primary strategic, client-facing lead for a portfolio of key accounts, building and maintaining strong relationships with senior marketing and media stakeholders.

  • Engage quarterly with clients to validate previous investments, understand their evolving business objectives, identify growth opportunities, and position FOX Sports as a long-term strategic partner across all stages of the marketing funnel.

Strategic Thinking

  • Lead the development of forward-looking, insight-driven strategies that address client challenges.

  • Translate business trends and objectives into innovative, scalable solutions that fully leverage the breadth of FOX Sports assets, platforms, and partnerships.

Communication:

  • Act as the liaison between sales team and management, ensuring effective communication flows in both directions.

  • Coordinate client/agency efforts with counterparts in other FOX Sports sales offices who share responsibilities.

  • Deliver compelling, executive-level presentations that articulate recommendations, value, and performance outcomes to both internal stakeholders and clients.

Performance & Insights

  • Utilize data, audience insights, and measurement tools to evaluate campaign effectiveness, optimize performance, and inform future recommendations. Communicate results to clients in a clear and actionable manner.

Team Leadership & Culture

  • Contribute to a collaborative, high-performance team environment by fostering a solutions-oriented mindset, sharing best practices, and supporting the development of team members

  • Oversee responsibilities for a collection of Account Executives.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • 10+ years of experience in media/sponsorship sales with a strong track record of leading teams and exceeding revenue goals.

  • Proven ability to play a pivotal role in high-performing sales teams, with a focus on collaboration and team success.

  • Executive presence with excellent communication, negotiation, and client relationship skills

  • Strong financial acumen, including experience with forecasting, budgeting, and revenue planning

  • Deep understanding of the advertising landscape across linear, sponsorship, and streaming platforms.

  • Proven success working with national brand advertisers and top media agencies

  • Expertise in integrated, cross-platform selling and consultative sales approaches

  • High emotional intelligence and ability to lead through influence and inspiration

  • Comfort with data and analytics, including using performance metrics to inform strategy

  • Passion for Sports and the evolving media landscape

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $160,000.00-224,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
