Job description

Salary Range: $100,000 - $120,000 + bonus

With scalable production capacity and disciplined program management, PSI delivers repeatable quality and reliable performance on complex builds for mission-critical and industrial applications worldwide.

Position Summary: 

Under the direction of the Controller the Assistant Plant Controller will provide assistance to the Controller in preparing and reporting financial statements conforming to principles of accounting and regulatory requirements. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Assist Controller in the direction of accounting functions of the organization 

  • Supervise day-to-day operations of Finance Department personnel, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Cost accountant 

  • Direct the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including account analysis, reconciliation review, flux analysis, balance sheet review, and preparation and timely delivery of financial statements 

  • Oversee, monitor and work to improve accounting procedures, internal accounting controls, and database management within the Finance group and throughout the organization 

  • Create or enhance processes for the calculation of significant balance sheet accruals, including commissions, medical, and AR Reserve 

  • Coordinate and administrate internal and external audit functions, ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements 

  • Monitor, investigate, and resolve customer receivable issues 

  • Assist the Controller in leveraging the strengths of the current team by refining roles and responsibilities, expanding training opportunities, and strengthening internal communications within the Finance group and throughout the organization 

  • Assist the Controller in preparing the annual budget and ongoing budget reporting 

  • Assist with Cost Reduction planning and implementation 

  • Provide information and assistance regarding various finance-related areas, including insurance claims, credit card issues, and cash management 

  • Other duties as directed by management 

Requirements: 

  • The right candidate shall possess the following qualifications and experience to be considered for the position: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA, and/or MBA preferred 

  • 5-10 years of experience in corporate accounting with 1-2 years at the manager level 

  • Microsoft Office experience with particular strength in Excel 

  • Experience with computer software, including Word, Excel, Access, and electronic document management systems such as Epicor, etc. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

  • Ability to work independently of direct supervision 

  • Ability to work well with others
