Job description

The Account Manager delivers exceptional client service to a portfolio of accounts through strong project management and disciplined execution. This role requires keen attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and close collaboration with Client Strategy to support strong client relationships and effective internal teamwork. The Account Manager demonstrates curiosity and a commitment to continuous learning while confidently communicating AGP processes and timelines to clients.
Client Partnership:
  • Responsible for managing and executing projects on time, on budget and with excellence, in coordination with strategy lead.
  • Focuses on making AGP an indispensable partner
  • Presents AGP work through skillful written and verbal communication.
  • Actively listens with the ability to identify client needs and respond accordingly.
  • Actively works to fully understand our client's business.
 Project Management:
  • Owns all project setup and timeline management in project management system.
  • Plans and manages client workflow throughout the agency from project initiation to project completion and billing.
  • Handles day-to-day communication with assigned account teams, including preparing for and conducting project meetings, documenting notes, identifying priority tasks, communicating follow-ups, etc.  
  • Proactively identifies potential project challenges and solves in collaboration with Director, Project Management.
  • Develops project copy documents.
  • Varying degrees of QC within project process to ensure work product aligns with project strategy 
  • Closely monitors budget estimate and budget actuals
Team Development:
  • Sets clear timelines and expectations to help hold cross-functional teams accountable
  • Completes weekly agency resourcing to support prioritization of workload based across departments
  • Facilitates productive and efficient team meetings with internal stakeholders and client contacts
  • Ability to foster collaboration and accountability across team members to mitigate challenges and ensure project success
  • Provides clear direction/constructive feedback to all departments, seeking support from Director, Project Management as necessary
  • Serves as a key team member on projects and celebrates team wins
Personal Leadership and Development:

Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field preferred
  • 1-3 years of professional experience in account management, agency project management, nonprofit marketing, fundraising, or related field
  • Experience in an agency environment strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects simultaneously from initiation through completion
  • Experience working on direct response fundraising programs, primarily direct mail and/or digital
  • Proven success serving as the day-to-day account manager and managing workflow for internal teams for a portfolio of clients
  • Experience managing budgets and working directly with clients preferred
  • Experience working with nonprofit organizations
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong knowledge of project management processes, agency workflows, and budget tracking principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build trusted client relationships.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize competing deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills with sound judgment and proactive risk management.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally, hold teams accountable to timelines, and deliver projects on time and on budget.
