JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE: Inside Sales Support

DEPARTMENT: Sales

REPORTS TO: Director of Sales

Position Summary: The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for supporting the outside sales team. Daily close collaboration with the outside sales team to support customers, problem solve and collectively service the customer and grow sales. This includes but not limited to: Accurate order entry, providing product knowledge/descriptions, timely problem resolution, pleasant, friendly and professional interactions with all customers. 

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Responsibilities:

  • Support outside sales reps with customer outreach directed by AM as needed as well as vacation coverage.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to grow sales with existing customers through uncaptured product sales, competitive strategic analysis, menu evaluation.
  • Continued product education, new or existing products.
  • Understanding the nuts and bolts of yields, sizing and pricing on finfish. 
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure product availability, correct spec and timely delivery.
  • Communicates regularly with the purchasing team on large orders or product needs.
  • Review and analyze priced orders for the following day to ensure adequate profitability for potential inbound product/cost changes as directed by Director of Sales


Administrative Duties:

  • Operate office equipment such as scanners and printers to complete tasks.
  • Organize and maintain accurate records of customer data and transactions.
  • Assist with cost updates in customer ERP systems and confirm purchase orders.
  • Participate in training to expand knowledge and enhance capabilities in the Sales and Retail areas.

Requirements:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Team player in all parts of the organization. 
  • Detail-oriented with experience in data entry and managing customer information.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and ERP systems.

Working Hours and Scheduling:

  • Foodservice Department operations include hours from 7:30AM - 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with rotating Saturday morning availability 

Additional Expectations:

  • Conduct oneself in a manner that always reflects positively on the Company, including professional business attire and behavior.
  • Participation in industry events as requested to represent the company.

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

  • High school education or GED
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent problem solving and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Able to transfer attention from one task to another frequently without affecting performance.
