Job description

Indian Line Cook – Training Provided | Growth Opportunity

Honest Restaurant – Artesia, CA

We are hiring a motivated Indian Line Cook who wants more than just another kitchen job.

This is an opportunity to learn multiple stations, build valuable Indian-cooking skills, and grow into a stronger position within our kitchen. Previous Indian restaurant experience is helpful, but it is not required. We are willing to train someone who is dependable, hardworking, organized, and serious about building a career.

What You Will Learn and Do

You will be trained to work across an all-around Indian kitchen, including:

  • Preparing ingredients, sauces, gravies, vegetables, batters, and station supplies
  • Cooking and assembling Indian dishes according to restaurant recipes and standards
  • Learning multiple kitchen stations instead of being limited to one position
  • Maintaining food quality, consistency, presentation, and portion control
  • Keeping your station clean, organized, stocked, and ready for service
  • Following food-safety, sanitation, storage, and temperature-control procedures
  • Supporting the kitchen team during busy lunch, dinner, weekend, and holiday shifts
  • Completing opening, closing, preparation, and cleaning responsibilities

Who We Are Looking For

The right candidate is:

  • Reliable and consistently on time
  • Interested in learning Indian cooking
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant kitchen
  • Able to follow recipes, instructions, and quality standards
  • Willing to work as part of a team
  • Clean, organized, and respectful
  • Able to remain focused during busy service periods
  • Available for a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
  • Able to stand for extended periods and safely lift kitchen supplies

Experience

  • Entry-level candidates are welcome
  • Restaurant or kitchen experience is preferred but not required
  • Indian cooking experience is a plus, but full training will be provided
  • California Food Handler Card required or must be obtained after hiring

Growth Opportunity

We are looking for someone who wants to improve—not someone who only wants to complete a shift and go home.

Employees who demonstrate strong performance, reliability, leadership, and a willingness to learn may earn opportunities for:

  • Additional kitchen responsibilities
  • Cross-training on more stations
  • Increased earning potential
  • Lead cook responsibilities
  • Future kitchen leadership opportunities

Growth is based on performance, consistency, and the needs of the restaurant.

  • Location: Artesia, California

Apply Today

Apply with your work history and availability. Tell us why you are interested in learning Indian cooking and building a long-term career in the restaurant industry.

We are seeking dependable people who are ready to learn, work hard, and grow with the team.
