Responsibilities as a Cook: strong experience in Indian cooking is a must.

  • Food Preparation/Production Responsibilities

  • Reviews menus, production, and prep guides to determine type and quantities of food to be prepared.’

  • Prepares all meal items according to planned menus and standardized recipes, in a sanitary manner, to ensure the utmost quality with minimal waste.

  • Uses nutritionally equivalent substitutes when required.

  • Operates a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment, such as blender, mixer, fryer, slicer, steamer, food processor, convection oven, stove, conventional oven, steam table, and tilt skillet.

  • Creates Indian food recipes.

  • Prepares and assists with special function meals.

  • Completes work assignments

  • Meal Service Responsibilities

  • Food Safety

Qualifications of a Cook: experience cooking authentic Indian food. Indian speaking preferred.

  • High school diploma preferred.

  • Prior work experience with food preparation a plus.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served.
