Major Responsibilities:

  • Partner with project teams, customers, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies to achieve successful project outcomes.
  • Oversee development and execution of project schedules and monitor progress throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review and analyze monthly financial reports, work-in-progress reports, and daily cost reports to drive operational and financial performance.
  • Champion a culture of safety by conducting safety meetings, supporting investigations, and ensuring compliance with Knife River's I Choose Safety programs.
  • Lead workforce planning, dispatching, recruiting, and team development efforts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, community partners, trade organizations, and industry stakeholders.
  • Complete operational, regulatory, and administrative documentation accurately and on time.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive construction management leadership experience.
  • Experience managing large-scale, multi-union aggregate materials construction operations.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, equipment, and project execution.
  • Working knowledge of job cost accounting, budgeting, and estimating.
  • Proven leadership and team development skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization capabilities.
  • Customer-focused approach with experience serving both public and private sector clients.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including occasional nights and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with HCSS HeavyBid and HeavyJob.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of construction financial reporting and performance metrics.

What you'll bring:

  • A collaborative leadership style focused on accountability, communication, and results.
