Position Summary:
As a vital part of our back of house team, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, food preparation, and cooking. Your role will support the daily operations of the kitchen through dishwashing, prepping, cooking, and ensuring the kitchen meets all health and safety requirements. You will be cross-trained on all Botiwalla kitchen stations (Grill, Assembly/Chaat, Fry/Griddle, and Prep).
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Complete daily prep tasks, including organizing and maintaining coolers, pantry, and walk-in areas to health code standards.
  • Cook food orders efficiently and consistently across all kitchen stations (Grill, Assembly/Chaat, Fry/Griddle).
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including prep areas, line, walk-in, coolers, and pantry.
  • Wash all dishes, pots, pans, and utensils, ensuring they are returned to their proper places.
  • Handle trash, recycling, and cardboard at the end of each shift.
  • Check sanitizer buckets, gloves, and rags regularly to ensure readiness for health inspections.
  • Communicate with Managers on Duty (MOD) regarding kitchen needs, inventory, and food quality.
  • Participate in daily huddles and monthly All-Staff meetings, contributing feedback and ideas for improvement.

Organization, Cleanliness & Systems:
  • Ensure all equipment and food items are stored properly, maintaining an organized and sanitary environment.
  • Always adhere to health code requirements, ensuring a safe and hygienic workspace.
  • Consistently use checklists to ensure all tasks are completed.

Communication:
  • Use Sling and Opus platforms for communication to managers and team members.
  • Provide ongoing feedback to management regarding food quality, sanitation, organization, inventory, and team dynamics.
  • Actively communicate with coworkers and management about needs, issues, and improvements.
  • Participate in regular check-ins with BOH management, discussing performance, goals, and improvements.

Evaluation Metrics:
  • Positive feedback from BOH Management, other cooks, FOH, and guests regarding cleanliness, food quality, and efficiency.
  • Consistently high standards of sanitation, food quality, and organization as reflected in Health Code inspections.
  • Positive contributions to workplace culture and team dynamics.

  • Follow all policies and procedures outlined in the employee handbook, including dress code, punctuality, and professional attitude.
  • Consistently meet cleanliness and sanitation standards to ensure health code compliance.
