Job Description

Crest Manor Living and Rehabilitation Center, a well established and highly respected Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility located in Fairport, NY, is offering an exciting opportunity in Food Service. We are seeking a Full-time Kitchen Cook with at least 1-2 years experience to join our team!

The Cook has the following responsibilities:

  • Prepares food according to the production sheets set up for the meal to be served during the assigned shift.
  • Provides all necessary diet restrictions as recorded on production sheets.
  • Communicates any substitutions, shortages or out-of-stock items to management.
  • Responsible for adherence to department standards of Quality Assurance.
  • Responsible for correct storage of leftovers following quality assurance guidelines. All foods will be labeled and dated and disposed of as necessary within established standards.
  • Responsible for storage of perishable deliveries and correct storage procedures of products as necessary.
  • performs other production responsibilities including salad and baking as required.
  • Cooks for any events as required. Garnishes and aids in setups as necessary.
  • Maintains the work area and equipment used in a clean and sanitary condition.
  • Responsible for sanitation within cooking area; coordinates with manager on major cleaning responsibilities and repairs as needed. Follows daily sanitation checklists.
  • Participates in in-service education, departmental meetings and safety programs of the Home.
  • Performs other duties as required by supervisor or by Administration from time to time.
  • Weekends a must

Requirements:

Education: High school Diploma or GED.

Experience: One year cooking and Managerial experience required. Two years of cooking and Managerial experience preferred.

Skills: Ability to read, write, and do simple math calculations.
