Relief Cook/Dining Room Aide - Full Time

The Adrian Dominican Sisters are looking for a Full Time Relief Cook/Dining Room Aide at our Motherhouse Campus in Adrian, MI.

Pay: 19.25/hr.

Hours: 8 hour shifts, start time as early as 5:30am, end time no later than 7pm, must be available for weekends and holidays. 40 hours per week. 

What you will be doing: You will work in our clean, professional and food safe kitchens alongside other Cooks and Dining Room Aides who prepare meals for the Sisters. Each day you come in you will provide dining room assistance and  occasionally fill in for the cook and serve large batch meals as determined by the chef's menu in a large buffet style dining room. You will take temps of all the freezers and coolers, prep food menu items for home cooked, mostly scratch meals.

Requirements:

Education: A High School diploma is preferred.

Experience: At least 1-3 years cooking experience required; experience cooking in healthcare environment preferred. Large batch cooking experience required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to read, write and follow written and oral instructions. Knowledge of and ability to use quantity cooking equipment. Ability to interact with a variety of personalities. Ability to deal with some stress provoking factors associated with a broad base of people and time constraints. Possess service oriented attitude. Exhibits superior level of expertise in food preparation, and is able to pass knowledge on to other staff through interaction.

Physical: Must be able to sit, stand, and walk up to 8-hours per day. Must be able to frequently stoop, bend, reach, and carry approximately 35 pounds. Must be sighted and capable of hearing. Annual influenza vaccination is required for this position.
