Job description

Job Title: PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR -2nd Shift

Department: Production

Reports To: Assistant Plant Manager, Shift Manager or Area
Manager

FLSA Status: Salary, Exempt

This position is responsible for the total operation of the assigned business unit. The position reports directly to the
Assistant Plant Manager (day shift) or the Shift Manager (night shift). This position is responsible for the efficient and safe manufacturing of quality products in a manner that is consistent with company policies and procedures. This includes:

  1. Providing leads with information, materials, and training, enabling them to produce the highest quality product possible,
  2. Monitoring records of attendance, payroll, production, safety and ergonomics,
  3. TQM, monitoring and promoting new ideas and encouraging the development of ideas
    form Team Members.
  4. Other responsibilities include overseeing the daily operation of their assigned area or responsibility and analyzing non-routine problems and offering recommendations for solutions to the Assistant Plant Manager or Shift Manager.
  5. Insure compliance with USDA, Federal and State Regulations.
  6. Maintain entire operations of their assigned area, including but not limited to, safety, production yields, quality, Team Member relations, turnover and absenteeism, discipline, payroll, staffing and line speeds.
    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Direct the work of employees in the production department.
  • Review and approve all production schedules.
  • Manages overtime to budget.
  • Ensure that products are produced in accordance with Twin River Foods/Atkins Prepared Foods quality
    specifications.
  • Set up and maintain efficient production processes.
  • Make plant inspections and insure plant's sanitary condition and operating procedure supports Twin River
    Foods product quality and food safety standards.
  • Review and approve all employment-related actions for production employees.
  • Insure compliance with FDA, EPA, OSHA, GMP, SSOP and HACCP regulations
  • Responsible for managing department expenses.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and insure that employees work in a safe manner.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Plant Manager or Shift Manager
  • Responsible for reporting and taking any necessary action to prevent food safety and food quality problems from occurring.
  • Responsible for following and enforcing procedures outlined in the Food Safety Plan and the Food Quality Plan and
    any other programs that support the Twin River Foods Quality system.


Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; BA or BS required.
  • 3+ years general experience of poultry production techniques, procedures, product yields and quality, and USDA
    and OSHA regulations.
  • Knowledge of appropriate federal, state, county, city and institutional regulations regarding food-processing operations.
  • Ability to listen and communicate openly

  • Basic computer skill.
  • Strong communication skills with bilingual skills preferred.
  • Education: Education beyond high school including
    special training, vocational school, and/or college courses, or equivalent
    experience.

SPECIAL NOTE:

Reporting directly to the Assistant Plant Manager or Area Manager (Day Shift) or Shift
Manager or Area Manager(Night Shift), this position will be in training for a period of one (1) year or until he/she demonstrates they have satisfactorily learned every aspects of the position, operations, distribution and all services departments. After the training period, this person will be able to supervise in any area where the facility
has a need.
