Job description

Job Title: DOMS/WMS Implementation amp; Optimization Manager
Division / Department: Logistics
Reports to: Logistics Operations Manager
Travel: As needed, travel to RSCs (additional travel during DC Projects)
Overview: The WMS Manager will help to ensure that Do it Best is getting proper and consistent value from the WMS and other related software used in our DCs. The WMS manager will lead the implementation of new DC software, including the development of a training and implementation plan, and be accountable for the actual deployment and successful launch of the new software. The WMS Manager is responsible for the WMS support process, the testing of software changes, and the prioritization of ticket needs with Softeon.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a Super User of the WMS and DOMS top provide remote and on-site service and support to Users.
  • Continuously improve WMS utilization, overall functionality, and resulting ROI. Fully understand warehouse operations processes and workflows to design, implement, and deploy safety, quality, and productivity improvements leveraging the Softeon DOMS/WMS systems.
  • Engage with business leaders, users, and vendor partners to understand processes, needs, and related constraints to deliver solutions, enhancements, and issue resolutions.
  • On projects, communicate needs, status updates, and timelines during implementations. Work with and support the IT Project Manager with this when one is assigned.
  • Monitor the daily business operations, specifically as they relate to the WMS, to ensure the correct procedures are being followed
  • Translate processes and needs into functional specifications for development and configuration. Manages multiple projects, production support, and system administration tasks daily.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance technical skills with business acumen, ability to transform end-user needs/functional requirements into technical requirements, and ultimately, business process improvements.
  • Manage WMS master data, ensuring accurate input, system usage of it, and proper security and user access control.
  • Coordinate with the Training Mgr to develop and maintain appropriate training materials, user manuals, documentation, and SOPs.
  • Communicate system and process changes to the users to drive proper execution.
  • Coordinate and communicate with RSC staff to identify technology-related enhancements in safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Evaluate support tickets, categorize, resolve, and escalate as necessary. Coach and counsel DC SMEs on proper ticket initiation and communication.
  • Coordinate Hardware support with the SAs. Coordinate the forecasting of DC needs, device budgeting, and purchasing. Manage the business relationship with our providers.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Information Technology (Or equivalent experience) is preferred.
  • Demonstrated success as a WMS administrator, warehouse operations manager, or IT systems administrator.
  • WMS, Small Parcel Pack and Ship, and Voice Pick technology competency and experience are preferred.
  • Demonstrated competency and experience supporting a complex network systems environment.
  • Expert knowledge of supply chain and warehouse operations.
