Job description

We are currently looking for a Full Time IT Application Development Manager to join our IT App Development Team 2 team located at the Information Technology working 8:00AM-5:00PM - Mo Tu We Th Fr.
Summary:
The IT Application Development Manager manages all activities related to the development, deployment, and operations of custom software applications in response to the needs of the Chickasaw Nation. This includes understanding customer needs, assessing requirements, setting priorities, and managing a team of programmers. Responsible for supporting, maintaining, and upgrading existing systems and applications. Required are communication skills, problem-solving skills, and knowledge of software development best practices.
Responsibilities:
  • Develops and maintains documentation as appropriate - files, logs, records, reports, etc.
  • Maintains confidentiality, security, and integrity of data and information
  • Ensures employees and resources complete assigned training and development
  • Maintains knowledge of, follows, and enforces all rules, regulations, policies and guidelines for assigned area
  • Mentors, coaches, develops and assists in training in assigned area
  • Assigns, reviews, monitors and ensures performance of assigned staff for area of responsibility
- Participates in candidate selection process
  • Assigns tasks and responsibilities of assigned staff
  • Reviews and documents work effectiveness of assigned staff
  • Coaches and corrects assigned staff through performance deficiencies
  • Observes and documents work behaviors of assigned staff
  • Ensures cooperative and respectful work relationship of assigned staff including interpersonal training and resolving internal issues
* Ensures compliance with all laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines for assigned work area
  • May be required to act as Manager on Duty in the absence of the manager to ensure all operational standards are maintained
  • Cultivate and sustain cooperative relationships across different divisions, departments, and external entities
  • Monitors and improves work performance of assigned teams as a whole and as individuals
  • Assists with organizing the planning process for strategic growth of all current and developing programs, inclusive of planning, implementation and expansion of programs and services, as well as other entities within the department
  • Prepares project plan and identifies needed resources to meet requirements and timeline for delivery of services on-time and under budget
  • Identify opportunities for strategic relationship-building aligning with the mission of the Chickasaw Nation
  • Research technological advancements to ensure that security solutions are continuously improved, supported, and aligned with industry and company standards
  • Provides advice on designs for application solutions, including design reviews, planning, development and resolving technical issues
  • Remains updated on IT trends and emerging technologies
  • Optimize the program management plan by identifying, reviewing, and leveling resource requirements to gain efficiencies and maximize productivity/synergies among constituent projects
  • Routinely participates in IT Security incident handling and resolution
  • Assists in the development and progress of goals and objectives
  • Plans staff to meet operational needs
  • Prepares daily reports
  • Prepares weekly reports
  • Prepares monthly reports
  • Advises on best practice approaches and expertise from past implementations
  • Participates in internal meetings and provide line of support with a report of current and prospective initiatives
  • Manages and orders office inventory, equipment, uniforms and/or other operational supplies
