JOB SUMMARY

As our IT Development Manager, you'll lead the software development team responsible for building and supporting the applications that power our business - from eCommerce and distribution to manufacturing, reporting, and internal operations. You'll partner closely with Business Analysts, Project Managers, and business leaders to deliver scalable technology solutions while helping shape the future of our development practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead, coach, and develop a team of software developers while fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture.

Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software development initiatives that support business objectives.

Partner with Business Analysts, Project Managers, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions and delivery plans.

Facilitate Agile development practices, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

Manage team capacity, priorities, and workloads to balance strategic projects with operational support and tactical requests.

Identify, communicate, and remove technical or organizational roadblocks to ensure successful project delivery.

Monitor development metrics and continuously improve team processes, quality, and delivery performance.

Provide technical leadership through architecture discussions, code reviews, and occasional hands-on development for complex initiatives.

Promote development best practices, coding standards, documentation, and long-term application maintainability.

Stay current on emerging technologies and industry trends while helping guide the evolution of Weissman's technology platforms.

QUALIFICATIONSEducation

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field required.

Experience

7 to 9 years of professional software development experience.

4 to 6 years of experience with SQL development, database support, or troubleshooting.

4 to 6 years of experience working within Agile development environments using Jira or similar project management software.

Demonstrated experience leading Agile teams through software development lifecycles.

Previous experience with project management, business analysis, or process improvement is preferred.

Prior people leadership or technical team leadership experience is strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, + Abilities

Strong understanding of Agile software development methodologies and Scrum practices.

Proficiency with SQL Server, SQL programming, and relational database design.

Ability to lead software development teams while balancing multiple projects and competing priorities.

Strong technical problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for business stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

Experience leading technical planning, estimation, architecture discussions, and software delivery.

Ability to coach, mentor, and develop technical talent while fostering accountability and continuous improvement.

Familiarity with project management principles, reporting, analytics, and software delivery metrics.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to drive collaboration across technical and business teams.
