Purpose & Scope: The Human Resources Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily HR operations and ensuring consistent implementation of company policies, procedures and employment practices, for assigned areas of the TX/CO Region.
Principle Responsibilities:
  • Oversee assigned employment duties such as recruitment, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, transfers, promotions and separations.
  • Provide technical support for operations management and HR staff
  • Ensure all employment processes are completed accurately, timely and in compliance with company standards.
  • Oversee accurate completion and retention of employment records including electronic I-9 documentation, employee files, historical file storage and retrieval.
  • Partner with production and HR Manager for timely processing of all employee changes including job changes, compensation updates, and organizational movements.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and company employment regulations.
  • For assigned groups, manages relocation, immigration and other responsibilities related to staffing administration.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to managers on performance management, employee relations, and disciplinary action.
  • Works with HR Manager on compliance, investigations, employment and other HR related functions.
  • For assigned groups, management of employee leave including FMLA, state leave programs, and company leave policies.
  • Support payroll to ensure timely submission of employment changes impacting pay.
  • Assist HR Manager with employee relations and engagement.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
  • This is a full-time position. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel
  • Weekly Day-Travel between Lamar, CO and Las Animas, CO is expected for this position as well as occasional overnight-travel to Dalhart, TX, recruiting events, corporate training and annual Fall Meeting.

Required Education and Experience
  • Two years of experience in employment, or human resources environment.

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Strongly preferred:
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
    • Bachelor's degree, preferably in human resource management or related field or equivalent level of experience, training and education.
  • Knowledge of immigration laws and processes
  • General knowledge of swine production or other live animal production
  • Extensive knowledge of Colorado and federal employment and labor laws and governmental compliance requirements.
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills
  • High-level of accountability and follow-through
