The Manager of Human Resources fills an essential role in our agency, requiring a talented individual to balance many needs in the organization. This role reports to the Chief Financial Officer and frequently works with Leadership on the employee-side of the organization. The Manager of HR has a heavy focus on recruiting and retaining talent. They also work with the Controller on payroll and manage our benefits and legal / compliance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Employee Lifecycle Management - from job descriptions and recruiting to retirement
  • Payroll - first line processor
  • Recruitment - postings, pre-screenings, interview scheduler, offers,
  • Onboarding
  • Offboarding
  • Retention
  • VI Policies - dissemination and record-keeping
  • Employee Relations
  • Benefits (open enrollment, additions, terminations, reconciliation, assisting employees)
  • Out-of-State Remote Employee Management - benefits and tax compliance
  • Intern Program Management
Education/Qualifications:
  • Proven working experience as HR Manager
  • People oriented and results driven
  • Three to five years' human resources experience in small to mid-size company
  • Paycom experience
  • Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
  • In-depth knowledge of labor law andHR best practices
  • Degree in Human Resources or related field; or equivalent education and experience
