The Human Resources Generalist internship prepares active-duty service members for civilian careers in Human Resources and Workforce Administration.
The internship program will provide hands-on practice to help participants learn foundational HR principles while translating their existing military experience- such as leadership, communication, and personnel management, into practical HR competencies. Participants will gain exposure to professional standards in recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, performance management, and organizational culture.

Participants in the HR SkillBridge program will receive hands on civilian experience for roles that support the people operations of an organization. Throughout the program, service members will learn how to support employees in all areas of the employment life cycle. They will also gain experience with day to day HR functions such as responding to employee inquiries, helping manager compliance documentation, and supporting workplace communication and engagement initiatives. The HR intern role requires professionalism, organization, confidentiality, and strong interpersonal skills. As part of the program, participants will practice navigating HR software systems, working with hiring managers, and ensuring that policies and processes are followed consistently. Participants will gain valuable experience on how HR contributes to team performance, company culture, and overall organizational success, making them a valuable contributor to any civilian workplace.

- Participants must be an active-duty service member eligible for SkillBridge (within last 180 days of service) and receive command approval.
