Are you looking to gain meaningful, hands-on Human Resources experience while making a real impact? Hengst is seeking a motivated Human Resources Intern to join our team for a full-time summer internship (6โ8 weeks), with the opportunity to continue part-time (10โ20 hours per week) during the school year.
Working directly with HR leadership, you'll contribute to projects that shape the employee experienceโfrom modernizing job descriptions and updating company handbooks to identifying top talent for current and future career opportunities. This is more than a typical internshipโit's an opportunity to build practical HR skills, collaborate with business leaders, and leave a lasting impact on the organization.
Position Summary
The Human Resources Intern will support the HR team with projects focused on improving HR processes, recruiting, and organizational documentation. This role offers hands-on experience in talent acquisition, job design, policy development, and HR operations while working closely with HR leadership on initiatives that will have a lasting impact across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and update job descriptions to ensure consistency and alignment with business needs.
- Assist with streamlining and modernizing employee handbooks, policies, and HR procedures.
- Research HR best practices and recommend process improvements.
- Source active and passive candidates for open positions using LinkedIn and other recruiting tools.
- Support recruiting activities, including resume screening and candidate communications
- Assist with special HR projects, reporting, and presentations.
- Complete other related duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently.
- Interest in recruiting, HR operations, and continuous process improvement.
