Human Resources - Coordinator

General Position Summary:

Assists in specialized areas of the Human Resources operation to include recognition programs, tracking employee data such as evaluations, unemployment security claims, income verifications and completing various audits.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:

  • Maintains confidentiality at all times insuring personnel-related matters are held in strictest confidence which includes maintaining a well organized work space
  • Prepares all correspondence related to the quarterly perfect attendance award program
  • Assists HR Management in the coordination of various incentive programs
  • Conducts employment verifications, exit interviews, and badge renewal notices
  • Prepares personnel reports at various intervals
  • Utilizes HRIS to develop reports to track Employee Evaluations, Employee Feedback Surveys, etc. and to enter all personnel related data
  • Compiles Employee Personnel Files and disassembles post employment files
  • Audits termed employee files prior to each payroll processing period
  • Processes all leave requests consistent with the Employee Handbook and Payroll Policies and Procedures
  • Provides tribal gaming with necessary documentation based on a pre-determined schedule
  • Communicates all personnel needs and concerns to HR Management and assists in the resolution process, as necessary
  • Makes recommendations to HR Management on continuous process improvement
  • Understands and embraces all PME Policies as set forth in the Employee Handbook
  • Responsible for the monthly edition of the employee newsletter
  • Develops and posts written and digital communication pieces
  • Understands and advocates PME's mission, vision and core values

Secondary Functions:

  • Possesses a working knowledge of the company's benefit programs and is able to provide responses to routine questions in an effort to clarify policies and procedures
  • May assist with the recruitment and hiring process in an effort to expedite staffing needs
  • Participates in all HR sponsored events and programs which emphasize positive employee morale
  • Promotes positive internal customer relations
  • Assists in maintaining the department's filing system
  • Assists the In-House Trainer with posting flyers and sending out training bulletins
  • Ensures all employee related forms are in good supply/order
  • Provides inter-departmental assistance when necessary
  • Completes all training (department and company) and completes training feedback report
  • Other duties as assigned by Human Resource Director

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required. Previous Human Resources experience or professional office experience required

Job Conditions:

Working conditions include working in an office setting with a computer, telephone, fax and other office equipment. Other working conditions may include working alone, or in a busy office with frequent interruptions. May have access to other members of management as necessary. Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays based on a rotating schedule.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift 25 lbs. while standing, twisting, or bending. Must be able to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time.
