Summary of Responsibilities:

The housekeeping lead works within the department to supervise the housekeeping and laundry operations to ensure product quality standards are met and that optimum service is provided to hotel guests according to hotel and company business objectives. In addition to ensuring the cleanliness of the hotel, the executive housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a neat and organized housekeeping and laundry area for the security of the hotel linen and supplies inventory.

Primary Responsibilities and Objectives:

·         Focus on guest and associate satisfaction, as well as expense control and product quality

·         Knowledge of property cleaning techniques and chemical handling, requirements, and use of equipment

·         Direct development and performance of staff: follow up with corrections when needed

·         Maintain confidentiality of guest and associate’s information and pertinent hotel data

·         Work well under the pressure of organizing and attaining production schedules and timelines

·         Prepare and administer timely performance evaluations according to hotel standards

·         Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment

·         Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental, divisional, and hotel policies, procedures, and manuals

·         Anticipates guests’ needs and responds promptly to guests’ requests

·         Always maintain positive guest relations

·         Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction

·         Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately

·         Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas

·         Review the daily activities, such as purchases, meetings, appointments, VIPS/Special Guests, and Catering activities

·         Ensure that staff reports to work as scheduled and properly document any late or absent associates

·         Inspect grooming and attire of staff; rectify any deficiencies

·         Monitor staff performance and ensure all procedures are completed according to department standards; rectify deficiencies with respective personnel

·         Complete work orders for maintenance repairs and submit them to engineering. Contact engineering directly for urgent repairs

·         Foster and promote a cooperative working climate, maximizing productivity and associate morale

·         Interview and hire new personnel according to hotel policies and standards

Education and Experience:

·         High school diploma or GED preferred

·         Three to five years’ experience in a similar position in an upscale hotel

·         Previous guest relations training and experience required

 

Skills and Requirements:

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·         Ability to communicate in English both verbally and written

·         Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy

·         Uphold and exemplify Avenue5 standards

·         Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team

·         Understand guests' needs

·         Required to complete and successfully pass the Avenue5 Fair Housing, Diversity and Inclusion Training within the first 30 days of employment

Scheduling:

·         Required to maintain a regular schedule which may require working outside of business hours, weekends, and non-traditional holidays

·         May be required to be on-call and aid during times of high demand

 

Environment:

·         Exposure to an environment typically found in a hotel or restaurant

·         Exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions
