Description

 The Housekeeping Lead plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across the JCC facilities. This position works closely with the Housekeeping Team and the Maintenance Team to support the daily operations of the department. The Housekeeping Lead is responsible for ensuring a smooth transition from daytime to evening/weekend staffing, managing schedules with clear communication and collaboration. 

Requirements

General Responsibilities: 

Assist with scheduling coverage or calling in staff for urgent shift needs

Support the Housekeeping Lead in orienting, training and mentoring new team members

Monitor and help maintain cleaning standards across shifts

Proactively identify supply, safety, or facility issues

Provide input to the Lead and Facilities Director regarding team performance or concerns

Respond to member questions and facility needs in a professional, timely manner

Assist with more complex cleaning equipment or high-traffic event transitions

Monitor supply levels, conduct weekly inventory, and submit orders for any needed supplies to Purchasing point person (Accounting)

Open or close the facility depending on shift and coverage needs

Identify maintenance issues and follow proper reporting process

Assist with special cleaning projects and weekend rotations

Demonstrate good time management and task prioritization

Use all commercial cleaning equipment confidently and correctly

Sweep, mop, vacuum, and sanitize all assigned areas as outlined in SOPs

Clean restrooms, locker rooms, showers, and common areas

Replenish paper products, soap, and other supplies

Follow basic cleaning procedures and safety protocols

Report facility concerns or damage to the Housekeeping Lead or Facilities Director

Interact courteously with members, staff, and guests

Maintain equipment cleanliness and organization

Ensure safety and security of the facility by ensuring all doors and windows are secured

Assist with room setups/teardowns under guidance of Maintenance and Housekeeping Leads

Attend Team meetings as needed

Other duties as assigned


Performance Expectations: 

Understand/possess an openness to Jewish religion and traditions

Attend all meetings and events that support the department's main objectives and responsibilities

Positively and actively promote the JCC's mission, membership, programs, events, and charitable purpose to JCC members and the general public

Be familiar with the mission, vision statements, and Core Values of the JCC. Model the Core Values while working and communicating with members and staff


Skills and Qualifications:

2+ years of housekeeping experience or equivalent

Demonstrated leadership and reliability

Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

Clear communication and ability to guide peers professionally

Ability to fill in or adjust schedule as needed for emergency coverage

Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move heave objects up to 30 pounds. 


Work Schedule:  4 days Mon-Fri from 9am-6pm AND Sat 6:30am - 3:30pm  covering Gan Rimon & Gan Tamar sites
