Job description

Job Description

We are a small boutique hotel in Berkeley with 39 guest rooms, and we are looking for a bi-lingual (English/Spanish) Housekeeping Supervisor to join our team. This person will oversee our housekeeping department in the absence of our Housekeeping Manager. In this role you will supervise and assist the housekeeping department in cleaning guest rooms and help with guest laundry. You will also conduct room inspections to ensure that all rooms are up to our high standards. When you inspect rooms, you will write work orders for our maintenance department for any maintenance work that needs to be done such as room painting or other room repairs.
You will also assist the Front Desk whenever needed by checking-in and out guests, answering phone calls, making and modifying reservations and assisting with guest parking (driver’s license is required). Previous Front Desk experience is not required as we will fully train you to get comfortable at the desk.
Requirements
We will only consider candidates who meet the following requirements:

  • Must be bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Must have previous professional housekeeping experience (please mention this in your application)
  • Previous Front Desk experience is not required, but you need to have the willingness to learn this new skill
  • Must be willing to work at the front desk and to interact with guests in person and over the phone
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
We are looking for candidates with an upbeat character who take great pride in taking care of our guests! This is a part-time position for 3 to 4 days a week and weekends are included. This job has the potential to turn into a full-time position if preferred. Previous professional housekeeping experience is required.
