Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Employment Specialist to join our Supported Employment Program! The Employment Specialist is responsible for providing job development, job training (both intensive and extended), advocacy and personal support & services where necessary to individuals in the Supported Employment Program. By working in conjunction with agency staff, local businesses, and other community-based vocational professionals, the Employment Specialist will help clients in achieving their individual vocational goals. The ideal candidate is compassionate, has exceptional communication skills, and has a strong desire to help people with developmental disabilities.
Responsibilities
  • Developing clients' independent work skills
  • Intervening to address performance and attendance issues
  • Communicating routinely with those involved in clients' case on clients' attendance, progress and challenges
  • Maintain and submit complete case notes and reports on clients' activities, in accordance with program procedures and employment contract requirements
  • Develop partnership relationships with local businesses on an ongoing basis
  • Organization, flexibility, and sensitivity to confidential client information are essential

Qualifications
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Familiarity with basic computer programs, such as the Microsoft Office suite
  • High School Diploma and 1-3 years of experience in service delivery to individuals with disabilities
  • Experienced Job Coach strongly preferred
