As a Software Engineer II, you'll deliver complex code solutions. You'll contribute to overall system design, architecture, security, scalability, reliability, application performance, and provide end-to-end support.

About the team
HEB's Digital Emerging Technology and Innovation team is our in-house innovation lab where we rapidly transform ideas into working prototypes. We operate as an idea incubator, building and testing new concepts with real users, sometimes going from concept to functional prototype in just days. We also evaluate vendor solutions and provide technical recommendations to business.
What is your background?
  • A Computer Science degree or comparable formal training, certification, or work experience.
  • 0-2 years of full-stack development experience with languages such as C++, JavaScript, Ruby, Python, PHP, Go, or Java.
  • Strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals such as data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Experience building and shipping customer facing products from scratch is a plus.
  • Experience with Cloud Technologies such as AWS or GCP or Azure is a plus.
  • Rapid prototyping while maintaining appropriate quality standards is a plus.
