As we expand into the greater Austin area, we are bringing the same innovation, excellence, and passion for hospitality that has defined our brand. From weddings and holiday parties to corporate retreats and social gatherings, our catering team delivers unforgettable events with creative menus, seamless service, and elevated design expertise.
We are currently seeking Prep Cooks to join the Proof of the Pudding team at HEB Center Cedar Park. The H-E-B Center is a premier multi-use entertainment facility, located in Cedar Park, Texas, near Austin. The arena is home to the Texas Stars of the American Hockey League, the Austin Spurs of the NBA G League and the Austin Acoustic of the Legends Football League. The H-E-B Center hosts more than 150 events per year including sporting events, concerts and family shows.
This is seasonal/part-time work as business needs are dictated by athletic events
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Observe and practice all established health and sanitation procedures.
  • Ensure all products are prepared, held and served at correct temperatures.
  • Ensure the proper rotation, labeling and dating of all products.
  • Working knowledge of all kitchen equipment
  • Solid understanding of standard measurements and portions
  • Always use the proper utensils and portions.
  • Keep work area clean, sanitized, and organized.
  • Keep management informed of food quantities and quality in prep, on the line and in holding cabinets.
  • Coordinate orders to ensure they are cooked timely and with accuracy
  • Assist with re-stocking of all plateware and food items as needed.
  • Assist other positions when needed.
  • Perform all opening and closing procedures as indicated in the Employee Development System Manual.
  • May be assigned to work multiple stations throughout the shift.
  • Implement and follow sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness and maintenance of kitchen
  • and/or dining areas.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations.
  • Perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as assigned

Performs other related duties as required.
Education and/or Experience:
  • 1+ year of experience working in a kitchen, experience in catering is preferred.
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • ServSafe certified or is available to receive training.

Specialized Qualifications:
  • Must be able to stand and exert fast-paced mobility for entire shift.
  • Must be able to frequently lift and carry food
  • and other items.
  • Must be able to go from warm to cold climates (workstation to coolers). Hours may be extended
  • or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays.

Work Environment
The work environment for this position will be event operations and working out of the Frisco Roughriders Field.

Physical Demands:
  • Prolonged periods of being in one place, moving throughout the concession stand.
  • Bending, lifting, scooping, and carrying miscellaneous equipment and food items.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, such as but not limited to, lifting approx. 30+ lbs.
  • Basic reading and mathematical skills.
