Job description

Tabitha Hospice | A Collaboration with Immanuel is currently seeking an Administrator of Home Health Care and Hospice at our location in Omaha, NE, to oversee the planning, development, leadership, implementation, and evaluation of the Home Health Care and Hospice programs and services provided through the strategic partnership of Tabitha and Immanuel Communities. This position performs the duties of the Administrator as defined by the various regulatory agencies having jurisdiction over Home Health Care and Hospice programs. The Administrator leads and directs all clinical and administrative functions of the agencies ensuring established standards of service are met.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Performs the duties of an Administrator as defined by the various regulatory agencies having jurisdiction over the Home Health Care or Hospice program.
  • Collaborates with Tabitha and Immanuel leadership to maintain partnerships in targeted markets as well as develop and execute short and long term strategy.
  • Provides leadership to the assigned agencies through the development, communication, implementation, and evaluation of systems of care, programs and services designed to serve the appropriate populations.
  • Responsible for completion of all legal, regulatory, and accreditation requirements to ensure licensure of Home Health and Hospice agencies as defined by the various regulatory bodies.
  • Ensures that operational and strategic goals of each program are met through oversight and management of the program and each specific discipline.
  • Ensures collaboration with agencies and vendors for effective management of services.
  • Represents Tabitha and Immanuel in community partnerships, in partnership with Business Development TEAMembers.
  • Assures that all business conducted is above the minimum standards required by law and will not condone any activities that achieve results through violation of the law, unethical business or patient care practices.
  • Develops, communicates, and implements plans to achieve quality standards which are consistent with excellence in each of the services.
  • Oversees the provision and coordination of Senior/client care provided by the service consistent with the standards of the Board of Directors.
  • Maintains current knowledge of the regulations and laws which apply to Home Health and Hospice programs and is responsible for compliance with regulations prescribed by various regulatory agencies. Ensures TEAMembers stay current on relevant local and national issues and trends.
  • Prepares, manages, and provides reports on the annual operating budgets to meet corporate goals and objectives. Maintains fiscal control of revenue and expenses within the parameters set by the approved operating budgets.
  • Ensures coordination with other departments and senior management and confirms that structure and systems promote interdisciplinary care.
  • Ensures services provided by other agencies are authorized by Home Care and Hospice.
  • Directs TEAMembers in performance of their duties including admission, discharge, transfer, revocation, and provision of service to Seniors/clients.
  • Develops, negotiates, implements, and monitors marketing plan for contractual agreements consistent with the approved operating budget.
  • Participates in community and related activities to promote the services and philosophy of Home Health and Hospice as well as the mission and vision of Tabitha Health Care Services and Immanuel Communities. Participates in marketing, public relation, and fundraising efforts related to these programs.
  • Participates in on-going quality and performance improvement activities for the organization and the agencies. Consistently includes evaluation and maintenance of Senior/client satisfaction as an important component of the quality improvement programs.
  • Assures the development, implementation, and evaluation of record systems, statistical reporting systems, and program documentation. Prepares and/or ensures the completion, maintenance, and submission of such reports and records as required by regulatory agencies and governing bodies. Maintains appropriate personnel and administrative records.
  • Maintains readiness for and cooperates fully during the survey process and takes immediate, appropriate, thorough and effective action to correct deficiencies.
  • Uses good judgement, discretion and integrity in the review, research and resolution of complaints and grievances made or filed by Seniors/clients/family members/TEAMembers, in partnership with supervisor and Administrator. Assists in reporting APS related issues.
  • Communicates expectations, holds employee(s) accountable, and manages consistently. Contributes to the success of Tabitha employees by coaching, developing, and mentoring direct reports. Listen to TEAMember concerns and takes appropriate action.
  • Assists with recruitment by interviewing job applicants, making hiring recommendations and takes steps to control preventable staff turnover related to supervisory responsibilities.
  • Carefully and consistently ensure that department protocol is followed regarding documentation pertaining to on-boarding, transfers and terminations. This includes completing employee change forms promptly.
  • Follows Tabitha protocol for submission of completed documentation as it pertains to TEAMember time records, performance evaluation, performance improvement, attendance records, etc. with particular attention to accuracy and timeliness.
  • Acts with integrity and in the best interest of Tabitha. Makes good decisions that contribute to the success of the department, well-being of the Seniors/clients, and the achievement of Tabitha objectives. Business relationships are conducted in the best interest of Tabitha, free of gifts, cash inducements, gratuities, favors, or other perceived improper inducements.
  • Ensures reports on all broken and malfunctioning equipment are made in a timely manner. Ensures equipment and supply inventories are adequate and safe.
  • Complies with Tabitha policies and procedures as published by Tabitha, and which may be modified at Tabitha's discretion. Contributes to quality assurance and performance improvement activities by identifying instances of non-compliance and taking appropriate action, including reporting violations of Tabitha policy or regulations as appropriate.
  • Maintains a good record of attendance and punctuality as defined by Tabitha's policy.
  • Prepares for, participates in, and/or conducts meetings and in-services on both department and company levels. Conducts and completes required training and in-services promptly. Participates in competency training/testing when required. Demonstrates understanding of the course content and implements training in daily activities.
  • Attends and participates in continuing education programs designed to keep abreast of changes in profession, as well as to maintain current license.
  • Maintains courteous relationship with supervisors, all Tabitha TEAMembers, Seniors/Clients, family members, loved ones, volunteers and vendors. Seeks opportunities and volunteers to assist others by providing support to all.

IDEAL CANDIDATE:
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Nursing or Health Services Administration preferred.
  • Minimum of three years management experience in Health Services Administration required. Two years management experience in Home Health Care and/or Hospice preferred.
  • Valid Nebraska Driver's license (unless otherwise allowed by law) and a good driving record required.
