Compensation: $90,000 - $105,000 Dependent on Experience

Tessera is seeking a professional and motivated Roads & Grounds Supervisor to perform a variety of administrative, supervisory and semi-skilled to skilled tasks, requiring an understanding of established plans and procedures for the supervision of grounds maintenance operations at Fort Lee.
Core Leadership Responsibilities:
  • Develop a strong understanding of AbilityOne and SourceAmerica programs.

  • Align team goals with Tessera's value proposition, ensuring highly engaged employee contribute to customer satisfaction.
  • Identify and mitigate safety hazards on job sites through effective risk controls and utilize activity Hazard Analysis (AHA).
  • Conduct root cause analyses to promote a safe working environment and maintain adherence to Tessera's Accident Reporting process.
  • Foster positive client interactions using effective interpersonal skills, demonstrating respect, empathy, and responsiveness.

Essential Duties Include but Are Not Limited To:
  • Supervises equipment operators, truck drivers, tractor operators, mechanics, grounds maintenance laborers, and temporary employees as required.
  • Plans and organizes workloads and staff assignments; trains, motivates, evaluates and counsels assigned staff; reviews progress and directs changes as needed.
  • Provides advice to staff; communicates official plans, policies and procedures.
  • Assures that assigned areas of responsibility are performed within budget; assures effective and efficient use of personnel, materials, facilities and time.
  • Oversee post-wide grounds maintenance to include, but not limited to mowing, trimming, edging, seeding, fertilizing, mulching, weed control, and various other tasks involving heaving equipment and tractor operations.
  • Oversee the construction/repair/maintenance of roads, including clearing, grading, drainage and foundation work.
  • Oversee post-wide snow removal operations as required.
  • Responsible for preparation of various documents to include schedules, progress reports, training plans, attendance status, performance evaluations, time keeping records, accident reports, and other employee documents as necessary.
  • Communicates and interacts directly with the customer; informing the customer of grounds maintenance activities and determining customer needs.
  • Responds to customer inquiries and complaints.
  • Ensure quality service to meet contract requirements.
  • Ensures follow-up is conducted on discrepancies identified by QC and QA inspections, and ensures corrections are made as necessary.
  • Conducts supply and equipment inventory and ensures accountability.
  • Ensures tools and equipment are maintained in accordance with preventive maintenance schedule.
  • Ensures all areas are clean, sanitary, safe and orderly, and remain in a functional state.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and always adhere to PPE and safety requirements.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions.
  • Reading and understanding contract requirements and maps.
  • Demonstrate ability to multi-task throughout the workday, with constant interruptions.
  • Ability to work with computerized work control systems (Microsoft Office) and spreadsheets.
  • CDL B preferred

Physical Requirements:
Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
  • Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

Requirements:
  • Valid state driver's license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera's insurance carrier.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access. A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
